END-OF-LIFE NOTICE, NO. 772
Cisco Systems® is now allowing consultants and end users alike to purchase the IP-address-licensed version of NetSonar scanner software. As a result, June 22, 1998, marked the End-of-Sale for the current NetSonar Consultant License (NETSONAR-S2010) and Consultant 5 License Pack (NETSONAR-S2011). Fulfillment of all shipments for NetSonar Consultant will be completed by July 15, 1998.
The NetSonar consultant license originally allowed users to scan an unlimited number of IP addresses for one year. At the end of the one-year period, users had to relicense the product at full cost. This licensing scheme restricted the target market to only very large consulting firms who could afford to purchase this annual license. By allowing consultants to purchase the IP-address-licensed version of NetSonar, firms can purchase smaller, less expensive versions of the product to perform smaller consulting engagements.

MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS
The Consultant version of NetSonar will continue to be fully supported by outstanding maintenance agreements for one year from the date of purchase.
SOFTWARE SUPPORT
Current versions of NetSonar Consultant will be supported until the termination of the annual contract period. After one year, consultants will be required to purchase the IP-address-licensed versions of the product.
