The Cisco® MCS 7825-I2-UC1 Media Convergence Server is a powerful platform for Cisco Unity® Connection and is preinstalled with an operating system optimized for the application. It occupies only 1 rack unit (1RU) while providing the features most requested in a server platform at a very economical price point.
• Intel Pentium D dual-core 2.8-GHz processor, an 800-MHz front side bus (FSB), and 4 MB of Layer 2 cache
• PC2-4200 Double Data Rate 1 (DDR1) memory
• Two onboard Gigabit Ethernet network interface cards (NICs)
• Two 80-GB serial-advanced-technology-attachment (SATA) hard disk drives configured in Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) 1
• Quick-deployment third-party rail kit
• 350W Power Factor Correction (PFC) power supply
• 1RU (1.75-in.) form factor, 22-in. deep
The Cisco MCS 7825-I2-UC1 supports Cisco Unity Connection.
PRIMARY FEATURES AND BENEFITS
The Cisco MCS 7825-I2-UC1 is a robust, highly available server platform designed to support today's IP Communications applications. It uses a single Intel Pentium D dual-core 2.8-GHz processor with an 800-MHz FSB.
The Cisco MCS 7825-I2-UC1 supports up to 8 GB of DDR memory. The increased processor performance coupled with DDR memory allows customers to retrieve and process information faster and more efficiently. DDR memory executes twice the number of operations per cycle than traditional synchronous dynamic RAM (SDRAM) memory, effectively doubling the data exchange rate between memory and processors.
Variable-Speed Fan Support
The Cisco MCS 7825-I2-UC1 includes variable-speed fans to reduce operating noise. Through the use of temperature sensors within the server, the speed of the fans is adjusted to maintain the proper cooling, reducing the noise generated by the fans by operating them only when required and at a speed based upon the cooling requirements.
SATA and Integrated RAID
The Cisco MCS 7825-I2-UC1 server supports enhanced serviceability through integrated RAID level 1 and front-accessible, simple-swap SATA hard disk drives. If a hard drive fails, user data is preserved on the mirrored drive, and system administrators can easily replace the failing drive without removing the server from the rack, reducing downtime and providing data reliability in a compact, highly cost-effective server.
System Error LEDs
The Cisco MCS 7825-I2-UC1 provides a system error LED and system locator LED on the front of the server to make pinpointing system problems easier than ever. When a system error occurs, this indication is made on the front panel of the Cisco MCS 7825-I2-UC1. If no failures have occurred, the system error LED is not lit.
DAT Tape Drive Support
The Cisco MCS 7825-I2 can support an optional 36-/72-GB universal-serial-bus (USB) external Digital Audio Tape (DAT) drive. This tape drive connects through the USB 2.0 port on the server. The 36/72-GB DAT drive is available as either an external tape drive (part number DAT-USB-EXT-72=) or as a rack-mounted drive (part number DAT-USB-RM-72=).
