Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® Media Convergence Server (MCS) 7825I-3000. The last day to order the affected product is August 2, 2005. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until May 2, 2010. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement, and Table 3 compares the features of the end-of-life product with its suggested replacement product.

The recommended replacement for the Cisco MCS 7825I-3000 is the Cisco MCS 7825-I1 or Cisco MCS 7825-H1.
The new Cisco MCS-7825-I1 provides a faster processor, doubled memory, and doubled hard-disk space compared to the Cisco MCS-7825I-3000 server. The new Cisco MCS 7825-I1 provides Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) 1 capability to improve the survivability if a hard disk fails.
