EOS/EOL Announcement for the Cisco Media Convergence Server 7845I-3000 [Cisco 7800 Series Media Convergence Servers]

PRODUCT BULLETIN NO. 2640

Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® Media Convergence Server (MCS) 7845I-3000. The last day to order the Cisco MCS 7845I-3000 is Feb. 16, 2005. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until Feb. 16, 2010. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco MCS 7845I-3000. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. Table 3 compares the features of the end-of-life product with its suggested replacement product.

End-of-routine-failure-analysis date	The last-possible date a routine failure analysis may be performed to determine the cause of product failure or defect.	Feb. 16, 2006
End-of-new-service-attachment date	For equipment and software that is not covered by a service-and-support contract, this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract.	Feb. 16, 2006
End-of-service-contract- renewal date	The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.	Nov. 16, 2009

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS

The recommended replacement for the Cisco Media Convergence Server 7845I-3000 is the Cisco Media Convergence Server 7845-I1.

The new Cisco MCS 7845-I1 server has doubled hard disk space compared to the Cisco MCS 7845I-3000 it replaces.
