DATA SHEET
Cisco Voice Services Provisioning Tool (VSPT) software provides a graphical user interface for the creation, modification, and execution of signaling connections, trunks, trunk groups, routes, and dial plans.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Cisco® Voice Services Provisioning Tool (VSPT) software enables network administrators to centrally configure, update, and manage voice services in complex networks using the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch device. Through an easy-to-use graphical user interface, Cisco VSPT helps ensure network wide consistency when managing voice services like dial plans, signaling connections, and routes, as well as single trunks and groups of trunks. It allows operators to increase their productivity by importing existing configurations, modifying them offline, and redeploying the updates to the device or to other devices. In a single operation, Cisco VSPT can generate the initial or iterative network provisioning information in bulk for newly installed nodes. The software also supports the provisioning of individual call parameters and can automatically generate deployment scripts that simplify the provisioning of large, live networks. Operator tasks such as trunk group provisioning are simplified by the Cisco VSPT user interface, tailored to efficiently configure voice networks.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS

PRODUCT ARCHITECTURE
Cisco VSPT is a Sun Solaris application, written in Java, that uses an X terminal standard workstation display. Cisco VSPT has no specific configuration database and operates under the "network is the master" concept. This means that it requires very little administration and always pulls the latest configuration and provisioning information from the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch it is connected to. These configurations may be stored on Cisco VSPT for offline updating and later redeployed to the switch.
MANAGED DEVICES
The devices managed with their supported software versions are listed in Table 3.

SYSTEM CAPACITY
Cisco VSPT connects with a single Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch/Cisco BAMS node, so there are no capacity issues to consider. Multiple users can access Cisco VSPT simultaneously using an X terminal connection. To ensure adequate response times when allowing large numbers of X terminal users access to Cisco VSPT it may be necessary to increase the computing capacity of the Sun platform.
