EU Directive 1999/5/EC: Compliance Information for the Cisco Aironet 1430 Series
This document contains compliance information for the Cisco Aironet 1430 series wireless bridges that is relevant to the European Union and other countries that have implemented the EU Directive 1999/5/EC.

The information in this document applies to the Cisco Aironet 1430 series wireless bridge products, which currently include the AIR-BR1430UN0-E-K9, AIR-BR1430UN1-E-K9, AIR-BR1430UI0-E-K9, and the AIR-BR1430UI1-E-K9.
Declaration of Conformity with Regard to the EU Directive 1999/5/EC (R&TTE Directive)
This declaration is only valid for configurations (combinations of software, firmware and hardware) supported or provided by Cisco Systems for use within the EU. The use of software or firmware not supported or provided by Cisco Systems may result in the equipment no longer being compliant with the regulatory requirements.

The following standards were applied during the assessment of the product against the requirements of the Directive 1999/5/EC:
•Radio: EN 301.893
•EMC: EN 301 489-1 and EN 301 489-17
•Safety: EN 60950-1, EN 60950-22, and EN 50385
For the Cisco Aironet AIR-BR1430UN0-E-K9, AIR-BR1430UN1-E-K9, AIR-BR1430UI0-E-K9, and the AIR-BR1430UI1-E-K9, the following CE mark and Class-2 identifier are affixed to the equipment and its packaging:
The 5 470 to 5725 MHz is available in all EU countries as well as in most other European Countries.
The requirements for any country may evolve. Cisco recommends that you check with the local authorities for the latest status of their national regulations for 5-GHz wireless LANs.
This product meets the National Radio Interface and the requirements specified in the National Frequency Allocation Table for Italy. Unless this wireless LAN product is operating within the boundaries of the owner's property, its use requires a "general authorization." Note Although Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein are not EU member states, the EU Directive 1999/5/EC has also been implemented in those countries.
Note The regulatory limits for maximum output power are specified in EIRP. The EIRP level of a device can be calculated by adding the gain of the antenna used (specified in dBi) to the output power available at the connector (specified in dBm).
This section contains regulatory information for the antennas available for the Cisco Aironet 1430 series wireless bridges.
Products with Integral Antennas:
The 5-GHz wireless bridges—Cisco Aironet AIR-BR1430UI0-E-K9 and AIR-BR1430UI1-E-K9—have integrated antennas which cannot be removed or which are not user accessible. Nevertheless, as regulatory limits are not the same throughout the EU, users may need to adjust the conducted power setting for the radio to meet the EIRP limits applicable in their country or region.

Products with Dedicated (External) Antennas:
The Cisco Aironet AIR-BR1430UN0-E-K9 and the AIR-BR1430UN1-E-K9 wireless bridges are equipped with N-type antenna connectors to allow the use of dedicated (external) antennas available from Cisco.
Table 2 list the antennas that can be used with these products. All antennas where assessed together with the equipment against the requirements of the R&TTE directive. The table also lists the maximum conducted power setting for each of the antennas.
Depending on the country, a different regulatory limit might be applicable. It is therefore the responsibility of the end user to select a power level that, together with the antenna, results in an eirp (radiated power) level that is below the applicable limit.

This devices operates within the 5470-MHz to 5725-MHz band.
Configuring Radio Transmit Power
To change the radio transmit power of the bridge, follow these steps:
Step 1 Open a web browser window and enter the IP address of the device you want to configure.
Step 2 Enter your authentication information and click OK.
Note Administrator privileges may be required in order to change these settings.
Step 3 From the bridge home page, click the settings tab.
Step 4 From the network interfaces menu on the left side of the window, click Radio1-802.11N5GHz.

Step 5 From the Network Interfaces: Radio1-802.11N5GHz Settings page, select one of the radio buttons in the Transmitter Power (Configured Power) section. The available options are 4, 7, 10, 13, and 16 dBm. The default transmit power is 16 dBm.
Step 6 Click Apply to save your changes.
