IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conference Integration
IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conference Integration
With the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conference integration, you can provide Sametime users with integrated web and audio conferencing capabilities. The Sametime infrastructure provides the web conference, and Cisco Unified MeetingPlace serves as the audio bridge. Users schedule and attend meetings from the Sametime Meeting Center, and the Sametime Meeting Room provides the integrated roster and in-session controls. You can view and manage the audio meeting provided by Cisco Unified MeetingPlace through the MeetingPlace Conference Manager.
With this integration, a Sametime Connect client can start an instant meeting, and invitees receiving the meeting invitation can join the meeting in the Sametime Web Meeting Room and receive audio through Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
For details, see the Integration Note for Installing and Configuring IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conference with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
Capacity Management Reports
The following capacity management reports are now available in the Administration Center:
•
Unattended Ports Report—Shows what percentage of scheduled ports were not used during a specified time range. The output can help you determine the appropriate settings for your overbook and floater ports.
•
Monthly Usage Report—Shows the number of minutes per month that were used for conferencing on the system.
Features that Have Changed from Release 7.0.1 to Release 7.0.2
•
MeetingPlace Conference Manager
•
Microsoft Outlook Front-End Integration
•
Microsoft Outlook Back-End Integration
•
Line Echo Canceller for G.729 Codec
Scalability
Audio scalability increased from 1000 to 1500 ports per Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system.
For details, see the Planning Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0.
Supported Languages
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace now supports the following locales, with the specified exceptions:
•
English (UK)—telephone user interface (TUI) only
•
English (US)
•
French (Canadian)—TUI only
•
French (France)
•
German
•
Japanese
•
Portuguese (Brazil)
•
Russian—no localized documentation
•
Spanish (Latin American)
Note
Only U.S. English is supported on Cisco Unified MeetingPlace systems that are integrated with Cisco WebEx.
In the previous release, only the following locales were supported:
•
English (UK)—telephone user interface (TUI) only
•
English (US)
MeetingPlace Conference Manager
MeetingPlace Conference Manager now provides the following features:
•
Full functionality for adding and editing user profiles—In the previous release, you could only modify the user password or e-mail address of an existing user profile from MeetingPlace Conference Manager.
•
Ability to export and import a list of servers—In the previous release, you could only add servers one at a time.
•
Ability to change the look and feel of the application.
For details, see the following modules in the Configuration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace:
•
Installing MeetingPlace Conference Manager
•
Using MeetingPlace Conference Manager
Directory Service
•
Directory Service filters for assigning time zones to imported users now support telephone numbers that do not include spaces or punctuation. You can specify the number of digits to use as the phone prefix to match a time zone filter.
•
New options are available for assigning profile numbers to Directory Service users:
–
Use the Telephone Number field entry in Cisco Unified Communications Manager as the profile number for each Directory Service user.
–
Use a configurable number of trailing digits from the Telephone Number field entry in Cisco Unified Communications Manager as the profile number for each Directory Service user.
–
Use a six-digit auto-generated profile number, starting from 100001.
If you select the first method of assigning profile numbers, but the Telephone Number in Cisco Unified Communications Manager is blank, then Cisco Unified MeetingPlace will instead use a six-digit auto-generated profile number for the user.
If you select either of the first two methods of assigning profile numbers, and the selected method results in a conflict with an existing profile number in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, the system will instead use a six-digit auto-generated profile number for the user.
You also specify whether to apply the profile number configuration method to new users only, or to each user profile that gets imported or updated during Directory Service user profile updates or full synchronizations.
In the previous release, the system assigned a profile number based on the Telephone Number field in Cisco Unified Communications Manager. If the Telephone Number field was empty for the user, then the system randomly generated a unique profile number during the initial import. If a previously empty Telephone Number field becomes populated, then the randomly generated profile number gets overwritten at the next Directory Service user profile update or full synchronization.
Cisco WebEx Integration
•
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0.2 supports Cisco WebEx Release WBS 27.
If you upgrade Cisco Unified MeetingPlace from Release 7.0.1 to Release 7.0.2, then you must also do the following:
–
Work with your Cisco WebEx administrator to upgrade your Cisco WebEx site from WBS 26 to WBS 27.
–
Create and upload a new Cisco WebEx certificate.
–
Configure Single Sign-On in the Cisco WebEx Site Administration.
For details, see the Installation and Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
•
For Cisco WebEx meetings that are scheduled from the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace end-user web interface, meeting schedulers may now designate one or more profiled invitees as alternate hosts. Alternate hosts can initiate the meeting in the absence of the meeting owner (host), and they have recording and share privileges in the Cisco WebEx web meeting.
If the meeting owner joins a meeting that was initiated by an alternate host, the meeting owner immediately takes the host role but not the presenter role. The host must manually take the presenter role to have share privileges in the meeting.
Note
Alternate hosts cannot start end-to-end-encrypted meetings.
In the previous release, the meeting owner was required to join the Cisco WebEx meeting to designate another user as the host.
For details, see the Scheduling Meetings module in the User Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
•
Cisco WebEx meetings now support Cisco Unified MeetingPlace video conferencing, which displays video through the video endpoints, for example, Cisco Unified Personal Communicator, Cisco Unified Video Advantage, and video terminals. Note, however, that Cisco Unified MeetingPlace video conferencing is not recorded in Cisco WebEx meetings.
In the previous release, users could join Cisco WebEx meetings with video, but only through web cameras. Video is displayed in the Video Panel within the Cisco WebEx web meeting interface and is included in Cisco WebEx meeting recordings.
When you obtain your Cisco WebEx account and site, you choose between Cisco Unified MeetingPlace video conferencing and Cisco WebEx webcam video. The Cisco WebEx site cannot support both types of video at the same time.
For details, see the Integrating Cisco Unified MeetingPlace with Cisco WebEx module in the Configuration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
Microsoft Outlook Front-End Integration
•
Microsoft Exchange 2007 is now supported.
•
Multiple delegates are now supported, specifically:
–
A Microsoft Outlook delegate may schedule meetings for multiple users.
–
A user may have multiple Microsoft Outlook delegates.
For more information about scheduling meetings on behalf of other users, see the Using Microsoft Outlook with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace module in the User Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
•
A single sign-on default user authentication method is now available. When the system is configured to use single sign-on, users do not need to log in to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace from Microsoft Outlook after successfully logging in to Microsoft Exchange or to Active Directory.
In the previous release, all users were required to log in to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace the first time they try to schedule a meeting from Microsoft Outlook, and again each time the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace user password expires. If the user selected the Remember Me option, then stored cookies were used to authenticate the users at all other times.
You can choose whether your system uses the single sign-on or the Remember Me default authentication method. To use single sign-on, you must enable SSL on the Application Server.
If you upgrade your system from Release 7.0.1 to Release 7.0.2 and select the single sign-on authentication method, then your users need to install the new Cisco Unified MeetingPlace plug-in for Microsoft Outlook.
For details, see the Enabling Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Scheduling from Microsoft Outlook module in the Configuration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
Microsoft Outlook Back-End Integration
•
Microsoft Exchange 2007 is now supported.
•
You now configure the back-end Microsoft Outlook integration on the Application Server. In the previous release, this configuration was performed on the Web Server.
–
Special steps are required to update Cisco Unified MeetingPlace systems that use the back-end integration. For details, see the Installation and Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
–
E-mail notifications for the back-end Microsoft Outlook integration now use the same e-mail notification templates and language property files as the front-end Microsoft Outlook integrations, which are configured and customized through the Administration Center.
In the previous release, the e-mail notification templates for back-end Microsoft Outlook integration were stored and customized on the Web Server.
–
Customized e-mail notification templates for Release 7.0.1 will remain on the Web Server, in case you want to reference them in the future.
•
The e-mail formats available for Microsoft Exchange are now HTML and plain text.
–
In the previous release, only Rich Text Format was supported for Microsoft Exchange.
–
When migrated from Release 7.0.1 to Release 7.0.2, user profiles with the e-mail type and format setting of Microsoft Exchange (RTF) will automatically be reconfigured to use Exchange (HTML).
–
HTML-formatted notifications do not support embedded images.
For details, see the Enabling Microsoft Outlook Calendar Notifications for Meetings Scheduled from the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace End-User Web Interface module in the Configuration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
IBM Lotus Notes Integration
The following enhancements were added in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0.2:
•
Users may now control the following items through a new field in the calendar preferences (More > Preferences > Calendar & To Do > MeetingPlace).
–
When default meeting settings are fetched from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
–
Default layout of the IBM Lotus Notes calendar entry form.
The new "Auto Profile Synchronization" field has these setting options:
–
True—(Default) IBM Lotus Notes automatically obtains the default meeting settings (such as the billing code and the number of participants) from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace. The calendar entry form always displays the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace fields and meeting settings. This is how the integration worked in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0.1.
–
False—The calendar entry form does not initially display Cisco Unified MeetingPlace fields and meeting settings. The user needs to click a new "Make this a MeetingPlace meeting" button in the calendar entry form to fetch the default meeting settings from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace and display those settings on the calendar entry form.
•
The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace User ID and User Password fields no longer appear on the IBM Lotus Notes calendar entry form. Users are initially prompted to log in through a separate dialog box, and the login credentials are stored and can be modified in the IBM Lotus Notes calendar preferences (More > Preferences > Calendar & To Do > MeetingPlace).
Line Echo Canceller for G.729 Codec
Release 7.0.2 introduces the availability of the Line Echo Canceller (LEC) for the G.729 codec.
By default, the LEC is enabled when the G.729 codec is in use. This default configuration requires that the system use the lower capacity global audio mode.
If you want to use the higher capacity global audio mode, then disable LEC for G.729. To do this, set the Enable LEC w. G.729 field to No on the Media Parameters Page in the Administration Center. Note that you need to restart the system after changing this field.
New Features in Release 7.0.1
•
Integrated the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace audio on-premise solution with the Cisco WebEx-hosted web-conferencing offering.
•
Added functionality for integrated audio-web and audio-video recordings.
•
Requires Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 6.x or higher for integration with other directory servers. (Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 6.x is bundled with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0.)
•
Added breakout sessions for video.
Features that Have Changed from Release 6.0 to Release 7.0
The following features have changed in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0:
Features No Longer Supported in Release 7.0
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0 no longer supports the following features that were supported in previous releases:
•
multiserver meetings
•
teams
•
flex menus
•
administrator VUI features
•
MeetingNotes (access to recordings from the telephone user interface)
•
WebConnect
Note
WebConnect is not supported in Release 7.0. However, information for WebConnect erroneously appears in the online help for the Administration Center in Release 7.0.1.
Limitations and Restrictions
Communicate the relevant limitations and restrictions to your end users:
•
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC)
•
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Outlook
•
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Click-to-Conference with IBM Lotus Sametime Instant Messaging
•
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Sametime Web
Media Server
•
CSCsq98121: In systems with only one Video Blade, when all the video ports are in use and one video participant moves to a breakout room, he cannot claim the video port that he just dropped when he left the main meeting room; however, a new participant can join the main meeting and claim the last video port.
System
•
CSCsy86643: Cisco Unified Communications Manager does not support the logical partitioning feature for calls that involve Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
•
CSCsm80659: You cannot install the Java Release 1.6 update 3 from the Sun Java installer located on java.com after installing and uninstalling different versions of JRE. If you already have Java 1.6 installed or if you do not have JRE at all, the problem does not occur. For more information, see http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6656888 or http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6591761.
•
CSCsq88071: The system displays an error if you do not use the same format (either hostname or IP address) for both the "Hostname [Home Page]" and "Hostname [Web Conferencing]" configuration values, even if they resolve to the same IP address. For best results, enter both as either hostnames or IP addresses.
•
CSCsm28212: If a participant attempts to start to record a meeting from the web, but the meeting scheduler does not have recording privileges, the system immediately stops recording the meeting. However, the system still produces an icon to an invalid web meeting recording that can later be found on the meeting recordings page.
•
CSCsv40103: If all recording resources for the system are in use when a user starts to record a meeting from the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace web meeting room:
–
Only the web portion of the meeting gets recorded.
–
Meeting participants are not notified that the audio portion of the meeting is not being recorded.
If, however, the meeting recording was initiated from the telephone user interface (TUI), then the user hears a voice prompt indicating that the recording cannot be started.
•
CSCsq75533: IOS routers that are used as transcoders for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace occasionally see the following traceback:
Sep 12 05:59:44.597: %DSMP-3-INTERNAL: Internal Error : dsmpSession not found,-Traceback= 0x6156F9DC 0x61704AD4 0x60149830 0x6123F250 0x60149BEC 0x6123BE40 0x60C6FB98 0x60C6A33C 0x60C6A9A4 0x60C545B0 0x60C5E168 0x60C52048 0x60C52310This traceback usually correlates to a dropped, one way, or no-way audio call.
•
CSCsu73586: SMTP notifications show the meeting time in the time zone of the recipient. For recurring meetings, the meeting time in the message body is for the first occurrence. Because Daylight Savings Time occurs on different dates for different time zones, the meeting time for a recurring meeting may change for the recipient even if Daylight Savings Time has not yet occurred (for the recipient) because it has already occurred for the meeting scheduler. The recipient should be aware of the Daylight Savings Time difference between his time zone and the time zone of the meeting scheduler and convert the meeting time as needed.
•
CSCsv11016: Audio quality may be poor when using a softphone (such as Cisco Unified Personal Communicator or Cisco IP Communicator) while participating or presenting in a web meeting. Specifically, audio quality may degrade when meeting participants are sharing content, such as an application or desktop, which increases the CPU usage and bandwidth consumption on the end-user PCs. Typically, CPU usage exceeding the 80% threshold causes latency and results in choppy or garbled audio.
This issue is not unique to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace. Other applications which increase CPU usage or consume bandwidth may also negatively affect the audio quality. If you observe poor audio quality through your softphone, we recommend that you exit any application(s) that are not being used for the meeting and that may be consuming CPU and bandwidth.
Conference Manager
•
CSCsm59792: The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Conference Manager is unable to launch after enabling SSL due to Java web start limitations. You must reinstall Conference Manager after you enable or disable SSL on the server.
Web Server
•
No CDETS number: When scheduling meetings from the end-user web interface, delegates cannot schedule meetings on behalf of other users. To schedule meetings for others, delegate must use the Microsoft Outlook with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace integration.
•
CSCsr95200: If a user reschedules a meeting in the following way, the meeting data becomes only partially updated, and users may not be able to join or modify the meeting:
–
While rescheduling the meeting, the user does not click the Update button on the Meeting Information page.
–
Instead, the user clicks Attachments/Recordings and then clicks OK.
–
If the new meeting time is still far enough in the future to not be in session, the user is brought back to the Meeting Information page but still does not click the Update button.
•
CSCsv00313: If there are no audio or video participants and only one web participant in a reservationless meeting, and that user installs the Cisco Unified Presenter Add-in from the web meeting room, then the meeting will end. Because the installation of the Cisco Unified Presenter Add-in causes the meeting room to relaunch, the system determines that there are no meeting participants in the reservationless meeting and therefore ends the reservationless meeting.
Cisco WebEx Integration
•
CSCsm13611: When a user renames another Cisco WebEx user, only the participant who renamed the user can see the updated name.
•
CSCsl88092: Cisco WebEx users can hear voice prompts for features that are not supported in Cisco WebEx.
•
CSCsk66953: Breakout room functionality does not work with the Cisco WebEx meeting room.
•
CSCsk95787: You cannot lock a Cisco WebEx web meeting from the phone. To lock a Cisco WebEx meeting, use the lock feature available in the Cisco WebEx web meeting room.
•
CSCso48210: Users should only use the My WebEx link to access Cisco WebEx meeting recordings. We do not support any other features found on the page to which you are redirected after clicking My WebEx.
•
CSCsk95184 and CSCsm10841: Profiled users can join the same Cisco WebEx meeting twice.
•
CSCsm16223: Users have phone numbers in their profiles, but those phone numbers are not available in the Cisco WebEx meeting room. Set Cisco WebEx to remember the phone number used on the client machine instead.
•
CSCso80988: If a user dials out with the Invite By Phone feature in the Cisco WebEx meeting room, the Hang Up option does not work until either the phone rings eight times or the called party joins the meeting.
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC)
•
CSCsl21354: If a profiled user dials in to a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace meeting that was initiated from Microsoft Office Communicator, leaves that meeting, and later rejoins that meeting by having the system dial out, then the user will be unable to mute audio.
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Outlook
•
CSCsr11853: For meetings scheduled through the end-user web interface, the system sends Microsoft Outlook notifications to the meeting scheduler on behalf of a dedicated system profile but sends notifications to invitees on behalf of the scheduler. Because of this, the scheduler does not see other invitees in the header or the scheduling tab of the notification. To see all the invitees in the notification body for meetings scheduled through the end-user web interface, enable the "Include list of invitees when scheduled from Unified MP Web" profile setting.
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Click-to-Conference with IBM Lotus Sametime Instant Messaging
•
CSCsw68185: If Cisco Unified MeetingPlace is configured to use a language other than English, some network or connectivity error messages are only partially localized or are displayed only in English.
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Sametime Web
•
CSCsv00013: The End Meeting menu option is greyed out, even for the chair, in instant meetings that are initiated from the chat client.
•
CSCsw38320: For meetings that are scheduled with telephony service, users cannot delete a single meeting instance of a recurring meeting series. When attempting to delete a recurring meeting, the user cannot uncheck the option to delete all meetings in the series.
•
CSCsw14731: If the chair dials out to another user:
–
The system treats the dialed-out user as a guest and prompts the user to record a name before joining the audio portion of the meeting.
–
If the same profiled user to whom the chair dialed out also joined the web meeting as a profiled user, the meeting roster will show a web-only participant for the user, but it will not be automatically associated to the audio-only participant entry created by the dial-out call. As a workaround, the chair can manually merge the two entries into a single participant by selecting them and then selecting Tools > Audio > Associate Users.
•
CSCsw20960: In the IBM Lotus Sametime Meeting Center, if a user clicks the URL for a scheduled recurring meeting, the user sees the following error: "HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - Entry not found in index." To resolve this issue, install IBM hotfix IHAS-7JZK69.
•
CSCsw70545: Users cannot change the duration of the audio portion of a meeting that is already in session. If a user clicks "Change Duration" on the Meeting Details page of the IBM Lotus Sametime Meeting Center, then the modified remaining meeting time is applied only to the web portion of the meeting.
This limitation is unlikely to affect the end-user experience, because Cisco Unified MeetingPlace automatically extends meetings as long as two or more audio users are in the meeting.
•
CSCsw73757: If a user tries to delete a previously edited occurrence of a repeated meeting:
–
The user is not given the option to delete all occurrences of the repeated meeting. Instead, the user can delete only the one selected occurrence.
–
If the user confirms the deletion of the single occurrence, the occurrence gets deleted only from the IBM Lotus Sametime Web system. The occurrence does not get deleted from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
•
CSCsw94840: Rescheduling part of a recurring meeting series creates additional meeting instances which unnecessarily reserve voice ports on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system. Specifically, if a user reschedules part of a recurring meeting series:
–
The changes are applied as if the meeting instance being modified is the first one of the series. The system creates new future meeting instances for those meeting instances that have already occurred in the past.
–
Future meeting instances are moved to the new meeting time only if the start times of those meeting instances match the start time of the meeting instance that is being modified. If the start time does not match, then the old meeting instance remains the same in the system while a new meeting instance is created for the new meeting time.
Closed Caveats
These caveats have been closed, which means that Cisco acknowledges that there is a problem but is choosing not to fix it. See the "Using Bug Toolkit" section for information about accessing these caveats.
Additional closed caveats are described in the "Limitations and Restrictions" section.
