Introduction

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.1 offers support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and Microsoft Outlook 2010. It also provides improved system hardening and serviceability requests, along with failover improvements and better replication status monitoring.

Software Download

You can access the software from the Cisco Software Download site at:

http://www.cisco.com/cisco/web/download/index.html and navigate to Voice and Unified Communications > Unified Communications Applications > Conferencing > Cisco Unified MeetingPlace > Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 7.1.

Release 7.1 Prerequisite Package

Release 7.1 requires that you download and install a number of hotfixes and dependencies prior to migrating from Release 6.0 or Release 6.1 to this release.

If you are migrating from Release 6.1 to Release 7.1, you will need the following hotfix from the MP71_Prerequisite.zip file:

•Web server Hotfix HF 6.0.639.99

If you are migrating from Release 6.0, you will need the following from the MP71_Prerequisite.zip file:

•Web server Hotfix HF 6.0.639.99

•Audio Server must be version 6.0.5.17 or later (only needed for customers migrating from Release 6.0)

•MeetingTime must be version 6.0.5.9 or later (only needed for customers migrating from Release 6.0)

This guide provides detailed instructions for the following:

Recommended Practices

The following recommended practices are provided to help prevent system failure and data loss.

•Scheduling and rescheduling of recurring meetings with more than 10 instances should be performed during off-peak times to minimize delays perceived by users joining meetings.

Hardware and Software Support

•Release 7.1 supports Cisco Security Agent (CSA) Release 6.0.1.112 for the Application Server and Release 6.0.1.140 for the Web Server (The CSA Release for the Web Server version has not changed from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0.3.)

•Support for Cisco Unified IP Phone 9971 is included in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.1.

Microsoft Outlook Integration

•Support for Microsoft Outlook 2010 (32-bit and 64-bit Edition) and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

•Ability to delete previously scheduled meetings: Users can delete one previously scheduled meeting at a time from their Microsoft Outlook calendars. Users cannot choose to delete multiple meetings at a time.

•Ability to permanently delete a meeting: Users are restricted from using the Delete Permanently feature when deleting previously scheduled Cisco Unified MeetingPlace meetings from Microsoft Outlook.

•Recurring appointments: Users can use drag-and-drop to update recurring appointments with Microsoft Outlook 2007.

SSO Support

•Single Sign On (SSO) support, with Microsoft Windows Active Directory credentials, is included for Microsoft Outlook 2010 and Microsoft Outlook 2007.

•Single Sign On (SSO) support, with Microsoft Exchange credentials, is included for Microsoft Outlook 2010, Microsoft Outlook 2007, and Microsoft Outlook 2003.

Note The Delegate feature is not supported when you enable SSO based on Windows Active Directory credentials.

Conference Manager

Conference Manager has the following enhancements:

•Speaking icon in breakout sessions—Icon indicates which attendant is speaking.

•Breakout room renaming—Attendants can modify the name of the current breakout session on the Meetings page.

•Voice identification for guest users—Attendant may click on a participant and hear the recorded name associated with that participant.

•Active meeting polling—When this option is checked, Conference Manager periodically displays which meetings have attendees and which meetings have guest attendees.

Failover

The system blocks failover when replication is lagging far behind. The system administrator sees a message and may choose to override the system and manually initiate failover.

Alarms

Configurable call capacity minor and major alarms have been added. Additional Information on Meeting Names

The system provides additional information Cisco Unified MeetingPlace prefixes, that are added to internally referenced meeting names, when meetings are scheduled. The prefix varies, depending on the meeting configuration.

Application Server Hostname and IP Address Checked in DNS Server

Starting with Release 7.1 MR1, the installation program checks the DNS servers to ensure the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace hostname and IP address have valid DNS entries.

Upgrade and Migration Paths

This release of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace supports the following upgrade and migration paths:

•Upgrade directly from Release 7.1 (MR1) to Release 7.1.3.8 (MR2)

•Upgrade from Release 7.0.2 (MR1) or 7.0.3 (MR2) to Release 7.1.

•Migration from Release 6.0 MR5 or Release 6.1 to 7.1

Note A direct upgrade from Release 7.0.1 to 7.1 is not supported. You must first upgrade to Release 7.0.2, then upgrade to Release 7.1.

User Interface Changes

•User Profiles field change: "Can call out from meetings" changed to "Can dial out (does not apply to Cisco WebEx meetings)"

Conference Manager Changes

There is a change in behavior when using Conference Manager to reschedule a meeting (for example, changing the meeting time or ports). In Release 7.1, the original meeting is deleted and a new meeting is scheduled. This causes an email Cancellation Notification (for the original meeting) to be sent to the invited participants.

System Capacity Limits

Release 7.1 further refines and enforces system capacity limits. See the following table for maximum limits on system capacity:

500	Maximum number of participants when users schedule a recurring meeting from Conference Manager
50	Maximum number of simultaneous meetings that can be recorded
250,000	Maximum number of user profiles in the database
400,000	A minor alarm is generated if the number of meetings exceeds 80 percent of 400,000. A major alarm is generated if the number of meetings exceeds 90 percent of 400,000.
500	Maximum number of concurrent audio and web meetings per Application Server
4500	A minor alarm is generated if more than 4500 meetings, scheduled for any 24-hour period, is exceeded.
60	Maximum retention time, in days, for meeting records.
200	Maximum number of occurrences when users schedule a recurring meeting from Conference Manager
500	Maximum number of participants when users schedule a recurring meeting from Conference Manager
N/A	System will generate an alarm if the number of video blades is less than the number of audio blades.

Replication Monitoring

Release 7.1 has improved replication monitoring, where the system sends alarms if the queue continues to grow. In addition, the system automatically switches off replication if the queue increases by more than 75%.

Logging in to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace

Login no longer requires a default login and password. Instead, use the login and password that you configured during installation.

Simpler CLI for Replication, Failover, and RSNA Configuration

The syntax for replication, failover, and RSNA configuration on the CLI has been simplified.. SSL Support

Meetings that are scheduled while SSL (https) is enabled must be rescheduled with SSL enabled. The system does not support the rescheduling of SSL-enabled (https) meetings when SSL is enabled.

Scheduling a Meeting With Video

A delegate needs the same privileges as the host, in order to schedule a video meeting, on behalf of the host. Specifically, the delegate needs the Host Video Meeting permission.

Web Server

All SQL Servers are required to be local to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace server that is handling the replication. SQL Servers can be "remote" in that they are installed on separate machines within a local data center. However, Release 7.1 does not support attaching to an SQL Server in a remote data center.

Important Notes

Third-Party Software Policy

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace is extensively tested in its supported hardware and software environment. Diverging from the supported hardware and software environment by adding third-party components may negatively impact Cisco Unified MeetingPlace functionality and may impose limitations to your Cisco support.

Cisco qualifies a fixed set of required third-party software, including remote-access and antivirus. This set is documented in the System Requirements document for each release. Any third-party components that are not explicitly listed in the System Requirements documentation are not supported.

Microsoft Updates and Patches

Do not apply operating system updates or patches directly from Microsoft on your Cisco MCS. Cisco qualifies such updates and patches for its applications and then makes them available to customers. Customers can sign up to be proactively notified of available updates through the following URL: http://www.cisco.com/cisco/support/notifications.html.

Adobe Flash Media Server Vulnerabilities

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace is not affected by the following Adobe Flash Media Server Vulnerabilities because Cisco Unified MeetingPlace does not ship with the Flash Media Server administration console:
