Introduction
These release notes describe requirements, restrictions, and caveats for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator Release 6.0, up to and including Release 6.0(102.0). These release notes are updated for every maintenance release but not for patches or hot fixes. Before you install Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator, we recommend that you review this document for information about issues that may affect your system.

Determining the Software Version for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator
Procedure
Step 1
Log on to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace LCS Gateway.
Step 2
Browse to the installation directory. (By default, the installation directory is C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\MPLCSGateway.)
Step 3
Right-click Mplcsgw.exe and click Properties.
The system displays the version number in the properties window.
LCS Version
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator supports LCS 2005 Standard edition and Enterprise edition. We do not support LCS 2007.

Release 6.0(102.0)
Removed Unnecessary Logging
Removed logging for all unsupported Cisco Unified MeetingPlace events that do not pertain to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator. The extra logging might flood the Event Viewer.
Release 6.0(11.0)
Added Support for Cisco Security Agent
The Cisco Security Agent for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace is now supported on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator server. The Cisco Security Agent requires that ports 5060 to 5069 be open so that the LCS Gateway can listen for incoming meeting requests.

In this release, the installation and upgrade processes have a new step, where you are prompted to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, which the system needs to start the LCS Gateway. If you do not install it during the installation or upgrade process, you will later have to download and install it from the Microsoft web site. See the "Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator: Installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable" section for more information.
Caveats
Using Bug Toolkit
Known problems (bugs) are graded according to severity level. These release notes contain descriptions of the following:

All severity level 1 or 2 bugs.
•
Significant severity level 3 bugs.
•
All customer-found bugs.
You can search for problems by using the Cisco Software Bug Toolkit.
Before You Begin
To access Bug Toolkit, you need the following items:

Internet connection

Web browser
•
Cisco.com user ID and password
Procedure
Step 1
To access the Bug Toolkit, go to http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs.
Step 2
Log in with your Cisco.com user ID and password.
Step 3
To look for information about a specific problem, enter the bug ID number in the "Search for Bug ID" field, then click Go.
For information about how to search for bugs, create saved searches, and create bug groups, click Help in the Bug Toolkit page.
Open Caveats
The caveats in Table 1 describe possible unexpected behavior in the latest Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator release. These caveats may also be open in previous releases. Bugs are listed in order of severity and then in alphanumeric order by bug identifier.
Resolved Caveats
This section lists caveats that are resolved but that may have been open in previous releases.
Bugs are listed in order of severity and then in alphanumeric order by bug identifier. Because defect status continually changes, be aware that this document reflects a snapshot of the defects that were resolved at the time this report was compiled. For an updated view of resolved defects, access the Bug Toolkit (see the "Using Bug Toolkit" section).
The following sections list caveats that are resolved in Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator but that may have been open in previous releases:

Errors

Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator: Remove Tasks to Start and Stop Web Conferencing
The information in this section should be changed in the "Configuring Logging" section of the "Troubleshooting Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator" chapter of the Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator.
When changing the logging level on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace LCS Gateway, it is not necessary to restart the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing service.
Remove these steps:
c.Right-click Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing and click Stop.
d.Right-click Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing and click Start.
Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator: Change Log Entry Name Changes
The information in this section should be changed in the "Troubleshooting Cisco Unified MeetingPlace LCS Gateway Startup Problems" section of the "Troubleshooting Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator" chapter of the Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator.

Add the following to the first paragraph:
If the system has not loaded the LCS Event Receiver Add-In, users cannot use DTMF controls in meetings. (For example, #5 for muting and unmuting, #41 for locking or unlocking a meeting, etc.)

Change the second paragraph of this section to this:
For troubleshooting purposes, the LCS Conference ID and Cisco Unified MeetingPlace meeting ID are both logged in the Gateway Systems Integrity Manager (Gateway SIM) log when the meeting is created. When the MOC user ends the conference, the system removes the tie between these two IDs. If the MOC user initiates another conference, the system uses the same LCS Conference ID, but it is mapped to a new Cisco Unified MeetingPlace meeting ID. If the MOC user has the "Use reservationless" parameter set to yes in the user profile, the system sets the MOC-initiated meeting ID to the user's profile ID (phone number). Otherwise, the system randomly generates the meeting ID.
Omissions
This section lists new and additional information that is not included in the current Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator documentation. The new and additional information will be incorporated in a future documentation release, or as otherwise noted.
Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator: Installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
The information in this section should be included in the "Installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace LCS Gateway" section of the "Installing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator" chapter of the Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator.
Insert these steps between the original steps 5 and 6.

If the installation program displays a message stating that it does not detect the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, you need to install it. Click Yes.
•
The installation program displays an end user license agreement window. Click Yes to accept the terms of the license agreement. The system installs the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. When the installation is complete, the installation program displays a completion message.
Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator: Wrong IP Address Error
The information in this section should be included in the "Troubleshooting Cisco Unified MeetingPlace LCS Gateway Startup Problems" section of the "Troubleshooting Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator" chapter of the Installation and Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Office Communicator.
Error Message Service cannot be started...The requested address is not valid in its context.Explanation You entered the wrong listening IP address on the LCS Gateway tab in the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace gateway configurations utility.
Recommended Action Enter the correct IP address.
