Release Notes for Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.0

These release notes contain information about new and changed support, new and changed functionality, limitations and restrictions, and open and resolved caveats for Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.0 up to and including Release 6.0(530.0).
You can access the latest software upgrades for all versions of Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace on the Cisco Software Center website at http://www.cisco.com/public/sw-center/sw-voice.shtml.
A directory server stores the directory information for your company in a logical structure that organizes user, group, and access information for easy retrieval and maintenance. Use Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace to synchronize your directory server information with your Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system profiles.
Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace supports the following directory servers:
•Microsoft Active Directory 2000, 2003, and 2008: Microsoft Active Directory allows you to store, access, and manipulate organizational information about users and resources, and manage all elements of a networked environment, such as computers, groups, users, policies, and other user-defined objects.
•Netscape/SunOne/iPlanet LDAP Directory Server Version 4 and Version 5: Netscape/SunOne/iPlanet is a general purpose LDAP directory that stores, publishes, and centrally manages users and network resources.
•Cisco Unified Communications Manager directory: Synchronizations of user data from the Cisco Unified Communications Manager directory allow the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system to support IP telephony users who are configured in Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
With Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, you can easily integrate the information that is stored on your corporate directory server with your Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system. By using LDAP technology, Directory Services creates an all-inclusive meta-directory that combines and synchronizes Active Directory or Netscape/SunOne/iPlanet directory information with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system information.
Benefits of Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace include the following:
•For new Cisco Unified MeetingPlace enterprise systems, Directory Services eliminates the need to manually create new profiles in the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system.
•For existing systems, Directory Services simplifies ongoing maintenance of user information in the system. Name changes, additions, deletions, and changes in status can be automatically propagated from your corporate directory to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system.

Compatibility Information for Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.0
You can install Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace on a dedicated Cisco MCS or with only the following Cisco Unified MeetingPlace components and integration applications:
•Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing
•H.323/SIP IP Gateway for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace
•Microsoft Outlook for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace
•IBM Lotus Notes for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace
•SMTP E-Mail Gateway for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace
Do not install Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace with any other applications or products.

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Directory Services Release 6.0(530.0) is a maintenance release that contains fixes to defects and product enhancements. See the "Caveats" section for a list of these defects and enhancements.

Limitations and Restrictions
The following caveat has been closed, which means that Cisco acknowledges that there is a problem but is choosing not to fix it. See the "Using Bug Toolkit" section for information about accessing this caveat.

Using Bug Toolkit
Known problems (bugs) are graded according to severity level. These release notes contain descriptions of the following:

Before You Begin
To access Bug Toolkit, you need the following items:
•Cisco.com user ID and password
Step 1 To access the Bug Toolkit, go to http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs.
Step 2 Log in with your Cisco.com user ID and password.
Step 3 To look for information about a specific problem, enter the bug ID number in the "Search for Bug ID" field, then click Go.
For information about how to search for bugs, create saved searches, and create bug groups, click Help in the Bug Toolkit page.
There are no open caveats for Directory Services for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.0 that meet this criteria:
•All severity level 1 or 2 bugs.
