Introduction
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration is a separately licensed add-on to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace conferencing that integrates the voice and web-conferencing capabilities of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace with the video-conferencing functionality provided by the Cisco Unified Videoconferencing MCU (Multipoint Control Unit). Voice, web, and video conference participants interact seamlessly in a single rich-media conference.
Video Integration supports standards-based H.323 deployments. Our internal testing environment has been focused exclusively on Cisco equipment.

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration Release 5.4(204.0) and Video Administration Release 5.4(2.103)
•
Support MCU Version 5.1 and Version 5.5
•
Simplified Password Change Mechanism
Support MCU Version 5.1 and Version 5.5
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace can support either MCU Version 5.1 or Version 5.5, but not in a mixed deployment. To change the version of the MCU that Cisco Unified MeetingPlace supports, go to Configuration Tool > System Configuration > Scheduling Settings and modify the "Supported MCU versions" parameter.
Simplified Password Change Mechanism
You can now change the administrator password from the web interface on the Display My Info page.
Gateway Configuration
You can now configure the gateway with multiple telephone numbers.
Enhanced In-Meeting Control Operations
•
Faster drag and drop—Improved responsiveness of the drag and drop mechanism in the Conference Control screen enables users to drag and drop a terminal to change its layout.
•
Faster refresh—Increased auto refresh rate of the Conference Control screen provides up to date information faster to the end user.
•
Enhanced moderator control—Meeting moderators retain meeting control until they choose to pass meeting control rights to another participant.
•
Inviting endpoints—Meeting moderators have 30 seconds to complete the operation before the screen refreshes.
•
Enhanced endpoint display—Correct display of multiple endpoints with the same caller ID in the Participant List of the Conference Control screen.
•
Enhanced Participant List stability—The Participant List does not automatically re-sort when an endpoint connects to or disconnects from the meeting.
Additional Updates
•
Corrected the calculation of the MCU capacity value for a meeting using the Desktop Service.
•
Added support for IP endpoints with bandwidths of 1024 Kbps and 2048 Kbps.
•
Video Administration no longer requires a 64 Kbps service to be defined on gateways managed by this Video Administration.
•
If Video Administration fails to create a meeting, the meeting remains in failure status. Any subsequent dial-in causes Video Administration to attempt to recreate the meeting.
•
Added support for configuring a third-party SIP server in the Video Administration web interface using the FQDN as well as the IP address.
•
Video Administration has enhanced the reliability of the internal gatekeeper authorization connection by using a single connection for both call authorization and call control.
•
The Video Administration Configuration tool now supports JDK Version 1.6.
•
Video Blade failover support enables Video Administration to find an alternative Video Blade in the deployment if the Video Blade fails when Video Administration tries to create a meeting.
•
Setting the Prioritize field to "Delay" assigns the meeting host to the master meeting in a cascaded meeting.
•
3G mobile endpoints are correctly invited with video.
•
Ad hoc virtual room meetings can continue beyond 30 minutes even when the terminate option is configured to end at a predetermined time.
•
The lecture mode meeting type service supports presentation view.
•
Audio meetings on MCU Version 4.4 support up to 150 audio terminals.
•
Inter-location bandwidth is calculated correctly when scheduling a point-to-point meeting.

Installing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration Release 5.4 for the First Time
For instructions on installing Video Integration, see the "Installing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration" chapter of the Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration Release 5.4 at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/ps5664/ps5669/prod_maintenance_guides_list.html.
Upgrading to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration Release 5.4
For instructions on upgrading Video Integration, see the "Upgrading Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration to Release 5.4" section in the "Installing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration" chapter of the Administration Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration Release 5.4 at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/ps5664/ps5669/prod_maintenance_guides_list.html.

Note the following considerations:
•
Before you install Video Administration, confirm the following:
–
That Microsoft Windows SNMP service is installed.
–
That ports 1098 and 1099 are not occupied.
•
Confirm that the web server port (TCP 8080 by default) and the internal gatekeeper authorization port (TCP 7777 by default) are not blocked.
•
Install Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) on the Video Administration machine before you install Video Administration.
•
Do not interrupt the installation procedure. After starting the service, allow several minutes for initialization of the server before logging in to the web user interface.
•
Following installation, upon initial login, the User Provisioning screen appears. Do not change the default selection that automatically appears. Click OK.
•
To enable proper Cisco Unified Videoconferencing MCU resource calculation, meeting types must be downloaded from the MCUs. To modify meeting type (MCU service) settings, update the service parameters in the specified MCU. In the Video Administration web interface, download this meeting type from the specified MCU and then upload to all the other MCUs in the network, if there is more than one.
