Wall-Mount Brackets Description
The wall-mount brackets allow you to mount a single ONS 15310-CL shelf assembly and associated cabling to a 3/4-inch plywood panel that is secured to a wall.
Note
Cisco does not provide instructions for securing the plywood panel to the wall, but does provide a template for predrilling holes in the plywood. Secure the plywood according to your site plan instructions.
You can mount the shelf assembly in an east-west direction so that the front of the assembly faces either left or right, or in a north-south orientation, where the front of the shelf assembly faces upward. A drip pan is provided with the wall-mount bracket for installation sites where the ONS 15310-CL is installed over a combustible surface. Attachment points for the tie-bar (15310-TIE-BAR-19) are also provided to allow for cable management.
Figure 1 shows installed wall-mount brackets and ONS 15310-CL in an east-west orientation.

Figure 2 shows installed wall-mount brackets and ONS 15310-CL in a north-south orientation.
Note
If installing the ONS 15310-CL in a north-south orientation, make sure you install it so the expansion slot faces upward. Do not install the chassis facing downward because the drip pan will physically interfere with cabling.

Install the Wall-Mount Brackets and ONS 15310-CL
The following parts are included in the wall-mount bracket kit. Numerals in parentheses indicate the quantity of the item.
•
Panhead screws, 8-32 x 0.315 in. (10)
•
Hex wood screws, 1/4-14 x 0.75 in. (6)
•
Wall-mount brackets (2)
•
Drip pan (1)
•
Wall-mount bracket template (1)
You will also need adhesive tape, a #2 Phillips screwdriver, an electric drill with a 5/32-inch drill bit, and a 3/8-inch nut driver.
Step 1
Line up the four screw holes on the left wall-mount bracket with the holes on the left side of the ONS 15310-CL chassis (Figure 1).
Step 2
Install and tighten four panhead screws.
Step 3
Repeat Steps 1and 2 for the right bracket.
Step 4
In the desired location on the plywood, use tape to secure the wall-mount bracket template to the plywood in the desired orientation (north-south or east-west).
Step 5
Drill the four screw holes using an electric drill, and remove the template from the plywood (Figure 4).

Step 6
Screw four hex wood screws into the plywood approximately halfway, using the 3/8-inch nut driver.
Step 7
Slide the keyholes on the brackets over the screws installed on the plywood, and tighten all four screws until secure.
CautionBecause the ONS 15310-CL shelf assembly is not mounted in a standard rack, you must attach the shelf assembly to appropriate grounding, such as a grounding bar, as approved by your local electrical inspection authority.
Install the Drip Pan
To install the drip pan on a chassis in an east-west orientation, line up the drip pan with the two available holes on the bottom wall-mount bracket, and install and tighten two hex wood screws (Figure 1).
To install the drip pan on a chassis in a north-south orientation, line up the two holes on the outside rails of the drip pan with the lowest hole on each of the wall-mount brackets, and install and tighten two panhead screws (Figure 2). Install and tighten two hex wood screws in the holes on the face of the drip pan.
Install the Cable Tie-Bar
As necessary, install the cable tie-bar (15310-TIE-BAR-19) according to the instructions that ship with the cable-tie bar kit. The tie-bar is used for cable management.
Figure 6 shows the tie-bar installed on a left-facing ONS 15310-CL chassis in an east-west orientation.
