Cisco IOS Release 15.0(1)M

Text Part Number OL-20799-01 Rev. B0

Cisco IOS Release 15.0(1)M integrates a portfolio of over 2,000 key capabilities spanning multiple technology areas, including Security, Voice, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), IP Services, and Embedded Management. Key highlights of Cisco IOS Release 15.0(1)M include the following:

Feature inheritance from Cisco IOS Releases 12.4T and 12.4 Mainline.

An extended maintenance release (44 months of support) that allows customers to qualify/deploy/remain on the release longer with active bug fix support.

Rebuilds of Cisco IOS Release 15.0(1)M that contain bug fixes only.

Cisco IOS Release 15.0M (extended maintenance) releases that deliver incremental new features and hardware support (in addition to supporting features and hardware previously delivered) every 20 months.

Note AppleTalk Phase I & II and Service Selection Gateway (SSG) features are not supported in Cisco IOS Release 15.0(1)M and later. In addition, several Cisco hardware platforms ended support on Cisco IOS Release 12.4(15)T, and also ended support on Cisco IOS Release 12.4 Mainline. These platforms will not be supported in Cisco IOS Release 15.0(1)M and later releases. See the following bulletin for more information:

To choose a new Cisco IOS software release by comparing feature support or memory requirements, use Cisco Feature Navigator. Cisco Feature Navigator is a web-based tool that enables you to determine which Cisco IOS software images support a specific set of features and which features are supported in a specific Cisco IOS image. You can search by feature or by feature set (software image). Under the release section, you can compare Cisco IOS software releases side by side to display both the features unique to each software release and the features that the releases have in common.

Cisco Feature Navigator is updated regularly when major Cisco IOS software releases and technology releases occur. For the most current information, go to the Cisco Feature Navigator home page at the following URL:

To choose a new Cisco IOS software release based on information about defects that affect that software, use Bug Toolkit at the following URL:
