Thank you for your interest in Cisco's Product Improvement Plan. This document describes the type of information we collect and what we do with the information.
What information is collected?
Customers who choose to participate agree to share:
- Product information, such as product type, software version, and installed licenses
- System information, such as server operating system and available memory
- Network information, such as number and type of devices on your network
- Product feature usage information
What does Cisco do with the information that is collected?
The information collected will be used to better understand how customers use Cisco products and how to improve Cisco products in the future. This information will not be shared outside Cisco.
Is my privacy and network information protected?
Cisco safeguards the information that is collected and transmitted from potentially harmful access. This program is not spyware and cannot collect information without your full knowledge or consent. The program takes only those actions described on this page, and only if you give your permission.
How does the this program work?
The program is automatic, so you only need to grant Cisco permission to collect data.
How do I participate in this program?
After you install your Cisco product, a dialog box asks for your permission to participate in this program. You can see this dialog box at any time to check or change your status by following these steps:
1. Launch the software.
2. Select Help > Help Us Improve Cisco Products.
3. Click the Yes… button in the dialog box that appears, and then click Save.
How do I say no?
You can select Help > Help Us Improve Cisco Products at any time and select No. When you select No, data collection and transmission to Cisco stops immediately.
Will I receive spam if I participate in the program?
Cisco will not send you any email or other communication regarding this program whether you participate or not.
Can I see the data that is collected before it is sent to Cisco?
Generally not, although you can view it in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and later. The data collection and transmission is designed to be efficient and operate without affecting the software or the user..
How long do I participate?
Information is collected as long as you use the product version for which you have agreed to participate or until you decide to stop participating in the program.
