Linking to the Video Portal
The Digital Media Manager provides a direct link to the Video Portal for each Video Part that has successfully been deployed. This link can be used as a direct link to view a specific Video Part without having to navigate through the Video Portal.
Displaying the Video Portal Direct Link to a Video Part
To display the Video Portal Direct Link to a Video Part, follow these steps:
Step 1 Ensure the Video Part has successfully been deployed to the appropriate Deployment Locations.
Step 2 In the Program Manager, navigate down to the Active Video Part List for a particular Program and Video. Click on the Properties Button for the Video Part to modify (see Figure 10-1).

The Modify Video Part window displays the Video Part Properties.
Step 3 Click on the Show Direct Portal Link button in the upper left of the Modify Video Part window, above the Required Items Properties.

The Video Part's direct link in the Video Portal is displayed below the Show Direct Portal Link button and above the Required Items Properties. This link can be copied and pasted into any browser to view the Video Part directly.

Note This Direct Portal Link utilizes the Video Portal's plugin detector to automatically determine which media format to direct each user, based on the user's system configuration. This link is not specific to the Flash, Windows, Real, or QuickTime format.
