Problem Description

Normal testing performed during manufacturing found that some 40-channel-WSS modules are affected by external contamination under a connector soldered to the board.

After further investigation, a total of 70 boards have been identified as affected by this issue.

Background

Testing performed during manufacturing found that some 40-channel-WSS modules are affected by external contamination under a connector soldered to the board.

Problem Symptoms

The net effect of the contamination is that the attenuation accuracy may be severely degraded and other malfunctions to ADD channels and VOA.

Workaround/Solution

The Boards will need to be replaced through the regular Cisco RMA Process.
