A vulnerability in the Stealthwatch Management Console (SMC) of Cisco Stealthwatch Enterprise could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass authentication and execute arbitrary actions with administrative privileges on an affected system.
The vulnerability is due to an insecure system configuration. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to the targeted application. An exploit could allow the attacker to gain unauthenticated access, resulting in elevated privileges in the SMC.
Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

Vulnerable Products
This vulnerability affects Cisco Stealthwatch Enterprise releases 6.10.2 and prior.
To determine which Cisco Stealthwatch Enterprise release is running on a system, administrators can go to the System Management page in the SMC web application interface by using a compatible, HTTPS-enabled browser. The version information will be displayed when the administrator logs in.
Products Confirmed Not Vulnerable
No other Cisco products are currently known to be affected by this vulnerability.

There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability.

Cisco has released free software updates that address the vulnerability described in this advisory. Customers may only install and expect support for software versions and feature sets for which they have purchased a license. By installing, downloading, accessing, or otherwise using such software upgrades, customers agree to follow the terms of the Cisco software license:

Customers Without Service Contracts
Customers who purchase directly from Cisco but do not hold a Cisco service contract and customers who make purchases through third-party vendors but are unsuccessful in obtaining fixed software through their point of sale should obtain upgrades by contacting the Cisco TAC:

Fixed Releases
This vulnerability is fixed in Cisco Stealthwatch Enterprise Release 6.10.3.
Customers should upgrade to an appropriate release, including the latest additional patches, as indicated in the following table:

Customers can download Cisco Stealthwatch Enterprise software from the Cisco Stealthwatch Download and License Center by doing the following:
- Log in to the Download and License Center at https://stealthwatch.flexnetoperations.com.
- Click the appropriate Stealthwatch Release link in the Software Updates section. The Product Search page opens with a list of all possible downloads associated with the selected release.
- Locate the appropriate software update (SWU) file and click Download.
