About Cisco Unified CCE (and Unified CCE Engineering Specials)

This engineering special addresses the defect CSCvx95438 ("While setting deployment to Packaged CCE 2k, issue while providing CVP cred") and code changes to remove duplicate media server entries from MachineService table.

Installing the ES55 patch is a prerequisite to install the ES71 patch. Unified CCE 12.5(1) transitioned from Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to OpenJDK JRE after the initial release. Newer installations and upgrades with 12.5(1a) base installer run with OpenJDK JRE while the older installations and upgrades with 12.5(1) base run with Oracle JRE. The ES55 engineering special enables 12.5(1) systems to transition to OpenJDK and is a mandatory prerequisite for receiving further maintenance patches on CCE.

Although 12.5(1a) installer lays down OpenJDK JRE for CCE applications, engineering specials prior to ES55 that contain Java deliverable files as a fix, may not work as expected. ES55 bundles all those Java file related fixes and can be installed directly. Install ES55 as an alternative to the following ESes: ES4, ES5, ES7, ES12, ES21, ES22, ES25, ES30, ES33, ES39, ES43, ES50, and ES51.
