About Cisco Unified CCE (and Unified CCE Engineering Specials)

This engineering special addresses the defect causing the B-Side Campaign Manager to hang in standby when frequent import API requests for dialing-list are being sent in a quick succession of a gap of less than 13 milliseconds.

Installing the ES55 patch is a prerequisite to install the ES65 patch. Unified CCE 12.5(1) transitioned from Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to OpenJDK JRE after the initial release. Newer installs and upgrades with 12.5(1a) base installer run with OpenJDK JRE while the older installs and upgrades with 12.5(1) base run with Oracle JRE. The ES55 engineering special enables 12.5(1) systems to transition to OpenJDK and is a mandatory prerequisite for receiving further maintenance patches on CCE.

Although 12.5(1a) installer lays down OpenJDK JRE for CCE applications,engineering specials prior to ES55 that contain Java deliverable files as a fix, may not work as expected. ES55 bundles all those Java file related fixes and can be installed directly. Install ES55 as an alternative to the following ESes: ES4, ES5, ES7, ES12, ES21, ES22, ES25, ES30, ES33, ES39, ES43, ES50, and ES51.

Installing Unified CCE 12.5(1) ES65


  1. Important: Prior to ES65 patch installation, remove the corrupted replication files (if present) from the 'repl' folder from standby Logger machine. Corrupted files might be present prior to the ES installation due to the defect CSCvx94616 and hence they must be removed manually. File name can be found from the Campaign Manager logs for which replication failed. Please refer to defect(CSCvx94616) for more details.
  2. Using the Unified CCE Service Control, stop all the Unified CCE Services running on the system.
  3. Launch the installer provided for the ES65 and follow the instructions on the screen.
  4.      Check the version of tomcat installed by running <ICM HOME>\tomcat\bin\version.bat . If it is 9.0.37 or higher, then do the following steps:


  5. If the Unified CCE Services are set to manual, using the Unified CCE Service Control, start all the Unified CCE Services.

Uninstall Directions for Unified CCE 12.5(1) ES65


  1. To uninstall this patch, go to Control Panel.
  2. Select "Add or Remove Programs".
  3. Find the installed patch in the list and select "Remove".

Note: Remove patches in the reverse order of their installation. For example, if you installed patches 3, then 5, then 10 for a product, you must uninstall patches 10, 5, and 3, in that order, to remove the patches from that product.

When multiple API requests are sent to upload contacts for more than one campaign simultanesouly, the replication files get corrupted and force the campaign manager to the Standby state.
