Behavior During Times of Network Congestion
These Release Notes describe the updates and fixes in version 7.5.6a of the Cisco Small Business SPA30X and SPA50X IP Phones firmware.
As with any firmware release, read these release notes before upgrading the firmware. Cisco also recommends that you back up configuration before you perform any firmware upgrade.
When you upgrade a Cisco SPA50X or Cisco SPA30X IP Phone, if you have installed a firmware version prior to 7.5.2b, you must first upgrade to 7.5.2b before you upgrade to release 7.5.3 or to a later release. See the following table for more information.
If you are upgrading using an upgrade rule, the following example can be used to successfully upgrade:

Hoteling is a new feature added to Broadsoft SIP servers to support a light weight extension mobility.
The Hoteling Guest feature allows a guest user to use the host device with the Guest User service profile to associate with Hoteling Host user.
The WBPN is a dongle device which serves as a wireless access point and enables Wi-Fi capability in the SPA50x, SPA30x and SPA51x phones. Beginning from 7.5.6 release, the Wi-Fi configuration is set via the LCD menu on the phone.
Note In the earlier releases, the Wi-Fi configuration was set by built-in webgui and windows WBPN wizard.
A new parameter <Auto register when failover> is added to control the phone to auto-register on fail-over proxy (when fail-over action is executed.) After re-registering successfully the INVITE message is sent to new proxy.
The new SPA devices support 2K client certificate. The service providers need to update root CA G35 to support previous FW on the new device with 2K client certificate.
Anything that degrades network performance can affect voice and video quality, and in some cases, can cause a call to drop. Sources of network degradation can include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
To reduce or eliminate any adverse effects to the devices, schedule administrative network tasks during a time when the devices are not being used or exclude the devices from testing.
