New and Changed Features

AES-256 GCM Encryption for SRTP

You can choose an encryption algorithm (either AES-128 or AES-256 GCM) for securing outgoing calls on the ATA. Before the release, only AES-128 is applied for Secure Transport Real-Time Protocol (SRTP) sessions.

To configure this feature, use the field Encryption Method under the section Audio Configuration from Voice > Line (n) in the ATA administration web page.

Make sure that the Secure Call Serv is enabled. It's under the section Supplementary Service Subscription from Voice > Line (n) > .

FIPS 140-2 Module

You can now enable ATA with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) compliance to meet the requirements of FIPS 140-2 (FOM 7.2a) standard. The minimum version of OpenSSL is Cisco OpenSSL 7.2.440.

To enable this feature, use the field FIPS Mode under the section Security Settings from Voice > System in the ATA administration web page.

RFC 8760 Support

Before the firmware release 11.2(5), ATA only supports the MD5 algorithm for authorization. With RFC-8760, ATA authorization can support additional digest algorithms, such as SHA256, SHA-512/256, and MD5.

To enable this feature, use the field Auth Support RFC8760 under the section SIP Settings from Voice > Line (n) in the ATA administration web page.

Limitations and Restrictions

Phone Behavior During Times of Network Congestion

Anything that degrades network performance can affect phone audio and, in some cases, can cause a call to drop. Sources of network degradation can include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Administrative tasks, such as an internal port scan or security scan.

  • Attacks that occur on your network, such as a Denial of Service attack.

Caller Identification and Other Phone Functions

Caller identification or other phone functions have not been verified with third-party applications for the visually or hearing impaired.
