Support for MIBs

Cisco UCS MIB files are a set of objects that are private extensions to the IETF standard MIB II. MIB II is documented in RFC 1213, Management Information Base for Network Management of TCP/IP-based Internets: MIB-II. Portions of MIB-II have been updated since RFC 1213. Loading Cisco UCS MIBs Into a Network Management System

To retrieve Cisco Intersight managed mode objects using read-only SNMP GET operations, load all additional MIBs. The additional MIBs retrieve inventory and configuration information.

Before loading IMM MIBs into the Network Management System (NMS), first load the prerequisite MIBs. Loading the prerequisite MIBs enables you to receive the required Fault Traps in the NMS.


Note

IMM configures SNMP on each endpoint, including Fabric Interconnects, servers, and chassis. Each endpoint provides its own data directly. As a result, parameters such as PSU status, fan module readings, CucsEquipmentChassisDn, and operation status are not aggregated or available through IMM.

Prerequisite MIBs

The MIBs in this section are required for all use cases and must be loaded before other Cisco MIBs.

Downloading MIBs

You can use the following links to download the required MIB:

Before downloading the MIBs from the FTP location,

  1. ensure that you know the names of the MIB files you want to download

  2. ensure that passive FTP is enabled on your browser.

After logging into the FTP location,

  1. Enter cd/pub/mibs/ucs-mibs/ to change directories.

  2. Use the get command to copy the required files to your local system.

  3. Use the quit command to exit passive FTP.
