Pay As You Grow Bundles

The Pay As You Grow (PAYG) feature enables you to implement a cost effective solution when the wavelength requirements are comparatively less than the maximum capacity of the network. For more information about the Pay As You Grow feature, see the "Understanding the Pay As You Grow Feature" section.

On enabling the Pay As You Grow feature, the CTP algorithm decides on whether to use a PAYG bundle instead of a standard capacity card based on the lower implementation cost. This appendix lists composition and description of each PAYG bundle.

PAYG Bundle Composition

F.2  PAYG Bundle Description

This section describes the rules governing the usage for these PAYG bundles:

15454-2DEGROADM-SK

15454-M-D2ROADM-SK

15454-MDEGROADM-SK

15454-M-D4ROADM-SK

15216-CMXDMX-SK

15454-WXC-SK

15454-LIC-CH-10

F.2.1  15454-2DEGROADM-SK

The 15454-2DEGROADM-SK bundle is used instead of a set of 40-SMR1-C and OSCM cards.

No license restrictions on the number of add/drop wavelengths.

Base license supports ten express wavelengths.

Each new license supports ten additional express wavelengths.

F.2.2  15454-M-D2ROADM-SK

The 15454-M-D2ROADM-SK bundle is used instead of a 40-SMR1-C card. It is applicable to sides that are not equipped with an OSCM card.

No license restrictions on the number of add/drop wavelengths.

Base license supports ten express wavelengths.

Each new license supports ten additional express wavelengths.

F.2.3  15454-MDEGROADM-SK

The 15454-MDEGROADM-SK bundle is used instead of a set of 40-SMR2-C and OSCM cards.

No license restrictions on the number of add/drop wavelengths.

Base license supports ten express wavelengths.

Each new license supports ten additional express wavelengths.

F.2.4  15454-M-D4ROADM-SK

The 15454-M-D4ROADM-SK bundle is used instead of a 40-SMR2-C card. It is applicable to sides that are not equipped with an OSCM card.

No license restrictions on the number of add/drop wavelengths.

Base license supports ten express wavelengths.

Each new license supports ten additional express wavelengths.

F.2.5  15216-CMXDMX-SK

The 15216-CMXDMX-SK 40 bundle is used instead of a 15216-MD-40-ODD card. It is applicable only to terminal sites.

Base license supports ten add/drop wavelengths.

Each new license supports ten additional add/drop wavelengths.

F.2.6  15454-WXC-SK

The 15454-WXC-SK bundle is used instead of a 80-WXC-C card.

Base license supports ten wavelengths.

Each new license supports ten additional wavelengths.

The number of wavelength counts is based on the card configuration and is calculated as per these rules:

For 80-WXC-C cards configured in the bidirectional mode, the express channels are counted.

For 80-WXC-C cards configured in the mux/demux mode, the channels added or dropped on the EAD ports are counted. Channels sent to the 15216-MD-40-ODD and 15216-MD-40-EVEN units, or the 80-WXC-C cards in the second level are not counted.

For 80-WXC-C cards configured in the mux/demux mode and used in an omnidirectional side, the channels added or dropped on the EAD ports are counted.

F.2.7  15454-LIC-CH-10

The 15454-LIC-CH-10 is the license bundle used to increase the channel requirement beyond ten wavelengths.

Each new license bundle supports ten additional wavelengths.
