System Management

Tech support files help the Cisco TAC team to determine problems you are experiencing with the Cisco Nexus Fabric Manager. Backup files enable you to restore the Cisco Nexus Fabric Manager at a later time. This chapter explains how to download the tech support and backup files and how to upload backup files to restore the Cisco Nexus Fabric Manager. It has the following sections:

Downloading Tech Support Files

When contacting Cisco TAC, tech support files are critical to help determine the issue. This section explains how to obtain Cisco Nexus Fabric Manager tech support files.

Note


All user and switch passwords are encrypted and cannot be decrypted by Cisco. The decryption keys are not included in the tech support files.

    Step 1   From the Navigation drop-down list, choose System.
    Step 2   Under TECH-SUPPORT, click Download. The download starts immediately.

    Downloading Backup Files

    Backup files can be downloaded to fully restore the Cisco Nexus Fabric Manager at a later time. This section explains how to download the backup files.


      Step 1   From the Navigation drop-down list, choose System.
      Step 2   Under BACK UP & RESTORE, click Download. The download starts immediately.

      Uploading Backup Files

      Backup files can be uploaded to fully restore the Cisco Nexus Fabric Manager. This section explains how to upload the backup files.


      Note


      Uploading backup files will restore the Cisco Nexus Fabric Manager database, management IP addresses, and credentials to the values stored in the backup. Restoring these values could also result in switch configuration changes.


      Before You Begin

      You have previously downloaded Cisco Nexus Fabric Manager backup files.


        Step 1   From the Navigation drop-down list, choose System.
        Step 2   Under BACK UP & RESTORE, click Upload. The UPLOAD BACKUP dialog appears.
        Step 3   Click CHOOSE FILE. The File Upload dialog appears.
        Step 4   Choose a backup file.
        Step 5   Click Open. The File Upload dialog reappears.
        Step 6   Click UPLOAD.
