Foreign Device Management
Foreign devices can be discovered automatically using the CDP or LLDP discovery protocol, provided they are CDP- or LLDP-capable and the protocols are enabled.
This chapter has the following sections:
Foreign Device Discovery: CDP-LLDP
A foreign device is any discovered device that is not considered to be within the switchpool and likely is not able to be imported into a switch pool such as a host or unsupported switch.
 Note |
To stop the auto-import of eligible neighboring Cisco Nexus switches, set the switch interface Role field to Host facing or Border. If the neighbor was discovered while importing a switch, delete it from the switchpool and set switch interface Role field to Host facing or Border. This will stop the neighbor from being automatically imported again.
for information about editing the interface, see Editing an Interface Configuration.
