Introduction

These release notes describe the recommended practices and known issues that apply to software version 1.6.x of the Android Cisco Business Mobile App.

What's New in Cisco Business Mobile app Version 1.6.x

Cisco Business Mobile app version 1.6.x introduces the following new features and changes:

  • Brownfield support - Day O support for adding Brownfield devices to the Mobile App.

  • Brownfield support - Day N support for adding factory-reset devices and Brownfield devices to the Mobile App.

  • Support for different config devices - this enables users to maintain different configurations for devices based on their preferences.

  • RADIUS support - support for RADIUS authentication.

  • Factory reset- this enables users to factory reset their devices.

  • Network tools - Ping and Speed Test. This enables user to test the network functionality by using the Ping and Speed Test.

  • Support for the Cisco Catalyst 1200 and 1300 series switches.

System Requirements for Cisco Business Mobile App

The Cisco Mobile app is supported for Android devices running versions 11, 12, 13 and 14. The following devices have been tested.

The following devices can be managed by the Cisco Mobile app:

  • Cisco Business 220 Series Smart Switches

  • Cisco Business 250 Series Smart Switches

  • Cisco Business 350 Series Managed Switches

  • Cisco Business 100 Series Access Points

  • Cisco Business 100 Series Mesh Extenders

  • Cisco Business 200 Series Access Points

  • Cisco Catalyst 1200 and 1300 Series switches.


Note

Cisco Business 350 Series switches with 10Gb Ethernet switch ports and a dedicated out of band (OOB) management port must be on version 3.1.1.7 or above to be installed and configured using the app. Affected models include: CBS350-8XT, CBS350-12XT, CBS350-24XT, CBS350-48XT-4X, CBS350-12XS, CBS350-24XS, CBS350-16XTS, and CBS350-24XTS.

Limitations and Restrictions

The Cisco Mobile app is subject to the following limitations and restrictions:

  • Cisco Business and Catalyst 1200/1300 switches need to connect to an existing Wi-Fi network to be managed by the Cisco Business mobile app. Please refer to the quick start guide that comes with the switches for detailed instructions.

  • The Cisco Business Mobile app for Android is not currently optimized for tablet devices. The app can be used on a tablet, but the user interface may not be optimal.
