Introduction

This article relates to the Cisco TelePresence System Codec C90, Cisco TelePresence System Codec C60, Cisco TelePresence System Codec C40 and Cisco TelePresence System EX90 products.

Q. Why does the System information display 1920*1088 pixels when placing calls using 1080p using the TANDBERG Codec?

A. This answer is valid for the following products:

TANDBERG EX90

TANDBERG Codec C20

TANDBERG Codec C40

TANDBERG Codec C60

TANDBERG Codec C90

1080p is 1920*1080 pixels. However to be able to code the image, the resolution must be dividable by 16. The picture is divided into macro blocks of 16*16 pixels when coded, hence you will receive a resolution of 1920*1088 instead of 1920*1080.

Note: The codec will add 8 black lines at the bottom of the coded image. These lines will be removed again at the far end side. No scaling is used to accomplish this.
