    Introduction

    This document describes how to create a public key (pub) file from private key (pem) which will be used for Cloud Center deployments.

    How to create pub file from private key for Secure Shell (SSH) to cloud deployments?

    Prior to the 4.5.x version, it was easy to use a private key for Cloud Center and this option was provided while deploying an instance. Due to security reasons, the feature has been discarded.

    If you need to access the new deployments with the use of the same private key, you need to follow these steps:

      

    1. Log in to the machine where privatekey.pem file is located.
    1. #chmod 600 privatekey.pem
    1. #sh-keygen -y -f privatekey.pem > publickey.pub
    1. #catpublickey.pub
    1. Copy SSH key.
    1. Login to Cloud Center GUI > Deployments > New deployments > Advanced > SSH option > Assign Public Keys > Copy-Paste the key.
    1. Deploy the instance.
    1. Login to the instance with the use of the privatekey.pem key. i.e. ssh –i privatekey.pem cliqruser@54.x.x.x.
