Cisco completes the acquisition of Involvio

Accelerating the pace of building Webex integrations and industry solutions, while bolstering the Webex Education Connector experience.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – June 30, 2021 – Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO)

Cisco is excited to announce the completion of the acquisition of Involvio LLC, a leading student experience platform that is tightly integrated with Webex

Life today looks a little different; you are seeing it in the way people work and in the way students learn. In this world of hybrid work and hybrid learning, being able to collaborate and stay connected is more important than ever.

As an early adopter of the Webex open APIs and SDKs, Involvio’s integrations are among the fastest growing and most used in our ecosystem. The acquisition, together with the Involvio team’s extensive knowledge of our developer tools, will enhance Cisco’s education offerings and vertical solutions while also catalyzing the expansion of the Webex open platform for other developers.

With the addition of Involvio, Webex will accelerate the pace of building new integrations and expanding our industry solutions. One of these industry solutions, Webex Education Connector, has illustrated the growing demand for hybrid learning and proven that remote education can be effective and empowering for teachers, students and parents.

Q: Can you explain Involvio’s offering?
Involvio offers a suite of education-focused products that help colleges and universities improve student experience, engagement, and retention. The Involvio team assisted Cisco in architecting Webex Education Connector, an integration that securely embeds Webex collaboration capabilities into learning management systems.

Q: Why did Cisco choose Involvio?
Involvio brings talent with deep expertise in integrating Webex into third-party software and the technology to bolster Cisco’s education and vertical industry solutions. This is an example of how Webex is executing on the strategy announced in December during WebexOne. We are focusing on building specialized experiences with our open platform.

Q: What product gaps is Cisco trying to address with this acquisition?
Involvio brings a strong team with significant expertise in education and specialized knowledge and experience in developing on Webex. Involvio’s talent will help Webex accelerate development and bolster support for Webex Education Connector, the Webex education portfolio, and the broader open developer platform.
