Notes on Specs-based Support Policy for Unified CCE

(top)

Unified CCE versions prior to 10.0(1) have limited support for the Specs-based Support Policy. The following technologies are not supported for those deployments indicating less than full support, by version.

Version Technology
9.0(x) SAN Transport
  • iSCSI
  • NFS
  • InfiniBand
  • 8.0(2) through 8.5(x)   SAN Transport
  • FCoE
  • iSCSI
  • NFS
  • InfiniBand

  • Notes on UCS Tested Reference Configuration and Specs-based Support

    (top)

The EOS notice for the Cisco Business Edition 7000M server does not apply to the C220M3SFF TRC (SKU: UCUCS-EZ-C220M3S) or C240M3S TRC #1 (SKU: UCUCS-EZ-C240M3S. The C220M3SFF TRC and C240M3S TRC #1 will continue to be sold until these M3 TRC servers are EOS.

When the hardware support is specified as "Yes (See details)", the following exceptions exist, as applicable to the TRC or Specs-based policy referenced:

  • The UCS M4 generation of C series servers is supported for use with any version of the Unified CCE application where the UCS M3 TRCs (except BE6000 TRCs) are supported as long as firmware 2.0(9c) or later is applied on the UCS C M4 series.
  • For more information on Unified CCE oversubscription support policy for 11.5, please refer to the Oversubscription section of the Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise Design Guide.

  • Co-residency Support Policy

    (top)

    Unified CCE

Unified CCE Co-residency policy is stated as Limited, though it may actually align to one of the other policies. This is due to IO limitations for Direct Attached Storage (DAS) arrays used with Unified CCE database applications.

Note: For any single DAS array, you can deploy only one of the following on any single array: Logger, Rogger, Progger, HDS, or CVP Reporting Server.

Unified CCE otherwise adheres to the following Co-residency policies by version:
    Version Co-residency Policy
    11.x Full
    10.x Full
    9.x Full
    8.0(2+) - 8.5(x) UC on UCS only

    Remote Expert Mobile

Remote Expert Mobile can co-reside with other applications (VMs occupying same host) subject to the following conditions:

    • No oversubscription of CPU: 1:1 allocation of vCPU to physical cores must be used
    • No oversubscription of RAM: 1:1 allocation of vRAM to physical memory
    • Sharing disk storage
Note: Remote Expert Mobile must be installed on its own pair of Side A and Side B servers. It must not be installed co-resident on Packaged CCE Side A and Side B servers.

    Notes on Megahertz (MHz) Sizing

    (top)

Indicated MHz is in context of the Solution Design Guides for Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise and Solution Design Guides for Cisco Packaged Contact Center Enterprise. Please see those design guides for how to use this MHz information in Cisco-supported designs, or for more information.

IOPS and Storage System Performance Requirements

    (top)

Unified CCE follows UC storage system design requirements. For more information, refer to UC Virtualization Storage System Design Requirements.

For information about TRC versus specs-based support for storage systems, refer to UC Virtualization Supported Hardware.

All Unified CCE VM vDisks must be deployed Thick Provisioned, Lazy, or Eager Zeroed. Thin Provisioned vDisks are not supported.

Storage Area Networks and Specs-based policy storage solutions must be able to handle the following Unified CCE application disk I/O characteristics. Tested Reference Configurations (TRC) for Cisco UCS C-Series servers do not need to apply these requirements against their Direct Attached Storage Arrays (DAS).

    Unified CCE 11.6(1)
Note: Details for Unified CCE 11.6(1) will be published in the near future.

    Unified CCE 11.5(1)
Note: Complete details for Unified CCE 11.5(1) will be published in the near future.
