Event Overview

At the OpenStack Design Summit, taking place April 26-29 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, CA., Cisco is joining the OpenStack community in shaping new technologies for next-generation cloud computing.

Shaping the future of cloud computing architectures cannot be accomplished by any one company on its own. Innovating together is essential. Cisco's strength in networking technologies and Unified Service Delivery puts us in a knowledgeable position to help form how the network is utilized in cloud computing services.

Cisco is proud to be a member of the OpenStack community, which is quickly becoming the central industry community for service provider-scale cloud operating systems software. We are sponsoring and playing a primary role in the OpenStack Design Summit.

We plan to:

  • Demonstrate Cisco’s value to OpenStack installations and lead new cloud networking efforts.
  • Demonstrate the power of OpenStack running on a unified service delivery infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the development of abstractions and APIs that enable rich use of networking technologies and services, and enable the innovation of new cloud features and services.

For more information, see the resources tab or visit the Summit website.

Learn how OpenStack can be deployed on a Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), specifically on the Cisco UCS B200 M2 Blade Server and Cisco UCS C200M2 High-Density Rack-Mount Server.

More information about Cisco's proposals and contributions to the OpenStack project can be found at the OpenStack Wiki.
