CCIE Central - UPDATE:
CCIE Certification Receives Top Honors from CertCities.com

The results of CertCities.com's annual reader survey for 2005 were recently announced and, for the fourth year running, CCIE won Most Respected High-Level Certification. CertCities.com states, "The key to the CCIE's success lies in the respect it commands from IT professionals for the painful (but worthwhile) difficulty of its hands-on practicum, which puts candidates' book knowledge to the test -- for eight hours."

Several other Cisco certifications were also recognized, including:

  • CCSP certification -- Finalist in the Best Security Certification category
  • CCNP certification -- Finalist in Best Mid-Level Networking Certification category
  • CCNA certification -- Finalist in the Best Entry-Level Certification category

Further, Cisco cleaned house in CertCities.com's winner-take-all category Best Overall Certification Program, again winning this title for the fourth straight year.

CertCities.com also announced the Hottest Certifications for 2006 -- a ranking based on readers' certification plans for the coming year -- in which CCSP placed fourth, CCIE placed sixth, and CCNP placed seventh.
