Cisco Product Identification Tool - UPDATE:
Online Tool Now Includes over 100 Card Products

The recently expanded Cisco Product Identification Tool now includes over 100 card products, in addition to more than 300 Cisco chassis models. This online tool provides detailed descriptions and illustrations showing the location of product serial number labels.

Accurate and accessible serial number information is important to you and to Cisco. The Cisco Product Identification Tool helps identify serial numbers for inventory purposes and for ensuring that you receive the appropriate level of technical support. Future releases of the tool are planned to cover even more Cisco product offerings, and to provide instructions for remote (electronic) serial number retrieval.

Cisco Technical Support & Documentation Website - UPDATE:
Website Honored by ASP and SSPA

In April, the Association of Support Professionals (ASP) named the Cisco Technical Support & Documentation Website one of the "10 Best Web Support Sites." Because this was the fourth time the Website has been named to the list, the site has ascended into the ASP "Web Support Hall of Fame," an honor given to only four other Websites worldwide.

A panel of judges with expertise in Web support design and implementation select the ASP award winners using a scoring system based on 25 performance criteria. The scoring system covers the following areas:

  • Overall usability, design, and navigation
  • Knowledge base and search implementation
  • Interactive features
  • Personalization
  • The major Website development challenge

In addition to the April ASP award, in March, the Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA) gave the Cisco Technical Support & Documentation Website its STAR Award for "Best Practices in Self-Service." This award recognizes the Cisco Issue-to-Resolution process used to deliver self-service on the Website.

This is the first year Cisco has won both awards from these two leading support associations.
