- About These Notes
-
The following list catalogs the Cisco verified limits for Cisco UCS 6100 and 6200 Series fabric interconnects running Cisco UCS Manager, Release 2.0 or higher.
Where limit values differ for 6100 series versus 6200 series fabric interconnects, values are represented in 6100-value/6200-value format.
- Ethernet Environments
-
- Active VLANs per system-- 1,024. 32 VLANs are set aside for VSANs.
- VLAN/VSAN ID space per system-- 4,013 unreserved spaces
- STP Logical Interfaces (also referred to as VLAN Port Count) per fabric interconnect-- 14,000/32,000
Note: The only exception is for failover vNICs. These consume resources on a per Cisco UCS domain basis.
- VIFs (virtual interfaces) per fabric interconnect that map through VM-FEX to a vNIC or VM itself-- 2000.
Note: The only exception is for failover vNICs. These consume resources on a per Cisco UCS domain basis.
- IGMP groups per Cisco UCS domain-- 1000
- Uplink port channels per fabric interconnect-- 12
- Member interfaces per port channel-- 8
- Primary VLANs per system-- 30. Private VLANs count towards the total number of VLANs.
- Secondary VLANs per Cisco UCS domain-- 30
- QOS system classes per Cisco UCS domain-- 6 (including the class default)
- Dynamic virtual NICs per VIC for PTS (ESX 4.0)-- 56
- Dynamic virtual NICs per VIC for PTS (ESX 4.1)-- 56
- Dynamic virtual NICs per VIC for PTS (ESX 5.0)-- 116 with no vHBAs. Or, 114 with 2 vHBAs.
- Dynamic virtual NICs per VIC for UPT (ESX 5.0)-- 56 with default config, no vHBAs. Or, 54 with 2 vHBAs.
- Dynamic virtual NICs per VIC for PTS (KVM 6.1)-- 116 with no vHBAs. Or, 114 with 2 vHBAs.
- Static virtual NICs per VIC (Win 2003)-- 10 vNICs and 2 vHBAs
- Static virtual NICs per VIC (Win 2008)-- 20 vNICs and 16 vHBAs (the maximum combination of vNICs and vHBAs is limted to 20)
- Static virtual NICs per VIC (RHEL 5.4)-- 32 vNICs and 16 vHBAs (the maximum combination of vNICs and vHBAs is limted to 32)
- Static virtual NICs per VIC (ESX 4UI)-- 26 vNICs and 16 vHBAs (the maximum combination of vNICs and vHBAs is limted to 26)
- Static virtual NICs per VIC (XenServer 5.6FP1)-- 20 vNICs and 2 vHBAs (the maximum combination of vNICs and vHBAs is limted to 20)
- Static virtual NICs per VIC (XenServer 6.0)-- 32 vNICs and 2 vHBAs (the maximum combination of vNICs and vHBAs is limted to 32)
- Fibre Channel Environments
