The CiscoWorks IP Phone Information Utility (IPIU) is a web-based management utility that provides detailed information about Cisco IP telephones. The IP Phone Information Utility is intended for operations, network administration, and help desk personnel who need to know the operational status and implementation details about an individual IP telephone or all IP telephones that meet specific search criteria in a Cisco-based IP telephony environment.
The IPIU is a "drop-in" module that is part of the CiscoWorks IP Telephony Environment Monitor (ITEM) solution. It can execute on the same platform as ITEM. It is available, at no additional charge, as a download from CCO. Once installed, this Web-based application can provide detailed information about an IP telephone based on its extension number, IP address, or the MAC address of the telephone instrument.
