Cisco Systems announces the end of life of the Cisco Aironet® 350 Series Rugged and Captured Antenna access points and site survey kits. The last day to order these products is October 31, 2003. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until October 31, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco 350 Series access points. Table 2 lists the product part numbers included in this end-of-sale announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Aironet 1100 and 1200 series access points, which provide greater investment protection as well as a superset of functionality relative to their Cisco Aironet 350 Series predecessors. Information about these products can be found at www.cisco.com/go/aironet. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco Aironet 350 Series access points to the Cisco Aironet 1100 and 1200 series access points.

The recommended replacement for the Cisco Aironet 350 Series Access Point with Captured Antennas is the Cisco Aironet 1100 Series Access Point. The recommended replacement product for the Cisco Aironet 350 Series Rugged Access Point is the Cisco Aironet 1200 Series Access Point.
The recommended replacements for the Site Survey Kits is the individual purchase of components. To replace the AIR-AP352E2R (Qty.2), which is included with each kit, Cisco Aironet 1100 or 1200 Series Access Points should be considered. The antennas and PCM card, which comprise the rest of the kit, are still available as separate purchases:

Please be advised that although the Cisco Aironet 350 Series access points will soon reach their end of sale, Cisco will continue to provide free field firmware upgrades for these devices. A utility that will enable end users to upgrade 350 Series access points from their current VxWorks operating system to Cisco IOS Software is planned for release in the third quarter of calendar year 2003. After upgrading the Cisco Aironet 350 Series Access Points to Cisco IOS Software, customers can continue to increase the value of their Cisco 350 Series access points with the features provided by these Cisco IOS firmware upgrades.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to: http://www.cisco.com/go/tradein/ . The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
