Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® Secure Policy Manager version 2.X and 3.X applications for managing Cisco firewall products, IPSec, and Cisco VPN routers. The last day to order the Cisco Secure Policy Manager 2.X and 3.X applications—either in standalone form or as part of the CiscoWorks VPN/Security Management Solution (VMS) 2.1—is December 31, 2002. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 31, 2005. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Secure Policy Manager 2.X and 3.X applications. Table 2 provides a listing of affected product part numbers.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the latest CiscoWorks VMS software release which provides enhanced device support, security management enhancements, server operating system, and client browser support.
At the time of this posting, CiscoWorks VMS 2.2 is the recommended migration path for Cisco Secure Policy Manager 2.X and 3.X customers to use. Many of Cisco Secure Policy Manager's functions are provided in the Management Center for Firewalls 1.2.2 release that is part of the CiscoWorks VMS 2.2 solution. Table 3 provides details about migration options consistent with CiscoWorks VMS 2.2.
