Cisco QoS Device Manager (QDM) is a Web-based network management application used for the configuration and monitoring of advanced IP-based quality of service (QoS) functionality within Cisco routers. QDM is a critical management component within the Cisco Content Networking architecture.

As part of the Content Networking architecture, QDM is especially designed for customers that are configuring QoS functionality in their network for the first time. These customers need an easy-to-use tool that will help them both configure and monitor QoS features in the most critical routers in their network. Since the Cisco router is frequently positioned as the communication interface between LAN and WAN environments, it represents a critical point of network traffic congestion, which must be managed effectively.
