The Cisco Transport Manager (CTM) is the industry's most advanced optical transport domain manager. It delivers the full power of the Cisco Optical Networking System (ONS) 15000 Series products to the operations personnel and back office systems of today's customers. A carrier-class EMS that lowers the cost of optical network operation, administration, maintenance, and provisioning, CTM provides fault, configuration, performance, and security management capabilities on a robust client/server-based platform that scales to manage up to 2500 NEs and up to 100 simultaneous users. Using CTM's network provisioning, surveillance, and performance monitoring features, customers can more rapidly roll out and maintain revenue-generating services that are built on Cisco Optical Networking Systems.

The intelligent CiscoTransport Manager HA Agent is designed to automatically detect problems, attempt to restart processes, and fail over to a secondary Sun UNIX server if required. With the HA solution, the risk of losing data is significantly reduced and the Cisco Transport Manager platform is optimized to provide continuous service when a failure does occur. The HA solution helps ensure constant visibility in a customer’s network.
