Cisco VT Advantage
Video Telephony Solution
Cisco® VT Advantage brings video telephony functionality to Cisco IP Phones, providing Cisco IP Phone users with the ability to add video to their communications experience. With Cisco VT Advantage, video telephony is now just a phone call.
Interactive face-to-face communications
Cisco VT Advantage is a video telephony solution comprising of the Cisco VT Advantage software application and Cisco VT Camera, a video telephony USB camera. With the Cisco VT Camera attached to a PC co-located with a Cisco IP Phone, the user can place and receive video calls on their enterprise IP telephony network. Users make calls from their Cisco IP Phones using familiar phone interfaces, but now calls are enhanced with video on a PC, without requiring any extra button-pushing or mouse-clicking.
When registered to Cisco CallManager, the Cisco VT Advantage-enabled IP Phone has the features and functionality of a full-featured IP Videophone. System administrators can provision a Cisco IP Phone with Cisco VT Advantage as they would any other Cisco IP Phone, greatly simplifying deployment and management. Enterprise customers now have a cost-effective, scalable, and visually interactive IP Communications solution.
Important Features and Benefits
Cisco VT Advantage is unique in that video telephone calls are just like regular phone calls. Call features like call forward, transfer, conference, and hold are now available with video and are all initiated through the IP phone. IP Telephony and IP Video Telephony are delivered to every employee using a unified dial plan and a common directory—over a single Cisco IP Communications infrastructure— through Cisco CallManager.
Cisco VT Advantage's video codec and bandwidth selection is completely controlled by Cisco CallManager, thus the user does not need any special experience or knowledge about video capabilities or settings. Users no longer need to predetermine if the other end of the call is a video terminal or phone. Whether the calls are audio only, or both audio and video, call completion rates increase, therefore productivity is increased.
Enabling interactive face-to-face communications at the desktop across an enterprise enhances productivity and the quality of communications, streamlines business decision-making, and improves teamwork. By reducing the need for in-person meetings, Cisco VT Advantage enables companies to save money on travel expenses and time associated with going to meetings. Cisco VT Advantage is designed to deliver enhanced modes of communication while protecting existing telephony investments.
Optimized Business Communications
Cisco VT Advantage features the latest technology and advancements available with true IP communications today. Customers can now take full advantage of their IP networks to deliver enterprise-class business communications that extends voice and video to every user in their organization. It is a dynamic solution that is designed to grow with new system capabilities. Features will keep pace with new changes through automatic software updates.
