Cisco AccessPath-VS3 Cisco Solutions Cisco AccessPath-VS3 Cisco VCO/4K Switches Programmable Switches |
The Cisco AccessPath-VS3 integrated access system enables quick deployment of toll-quality voice and fax services over data networks, combined with an unprecedented level of system reliability, availability, and scalability. The VCO/4K open, programmable switch can be purchased as an option for Cisco's AccessPath-VS3 (AP-VS3). The AP-VS3 is the industry's first fully integrated, dial-access system that merges universal VoIP access, industry-leading switching and high-speed backhaul routing capabilities into a single, scalable architecture. The combined AP-VS3 and VCO/4K solution provides carriers with an efficient and cost-effective way to deliver a broad range of value-added voice services in New World packet-based networks and to build mixed environment gateways. When used as a front-end to the AP-VS3, the VCO/4K will efficiently control every element of the call path, enabling intelligent services such as pre- and post-paid calling card, 800-call redirect, voice-activated dialing, web-initiated conferencing, and more. As a mixed environment gateway, the AP-VS3 with programmable switching option enables Cisco customers to realize cost savings from least-cost routing between circuit networks or from circuit-to-packet networks. Incoming calls to destinations that are not served by the packet-telephony network can be directly routed to the PSTN without occupying valuable DSP resources of the AccessPath-VS3. Cisco AccessPath-VS3 garnered the Internet Telephony Editor's Choice Award 1998.
