Product Bulletin No. 1996
End-of-Life Announcement for select Cisco BPX 8600 BNI front and back cards
The Cisco BPX® 8600 BNI front and back cards went EOS/EOL on October 19, 2000; however, an end of sales product bulletin was not posted. The purpose of this product bulletin is to declare the end of contract renewal and end of support dates. Cisco customers may continue to receive hardware and software support for the period set forth in the milestones and timelines in Table 1.
The BNI front and back cards are replaced by the BXM cards. The BXM cards deliver advanced ATM features with superior scalability, connection densities, and industry-leading per port pricing. The BXM cards have been shipping since 1998 and are widely deployed in service provider networks around the world.
In summary, the milestones, their definitions, and effective EOL dates are listed in Table 1.
