Cisco 12000 Series One-Port OC-192c/STM-64c POS/SDH
Line Card with SR2 Optics End-of-Life Announcement

Cisco Systems is announcing the end of life (EOL) for the Cisco 12000 Series One-Port OC-192 Packet-over-SONET (POS) Line Card with the part number OC192/POS-SR2-SC. This line card was manufactured as a temporary replacement to the OC192/POS-SR-SC, which could not be shipped because of optics component issues. The Short Reach (SR) modules are now qualified and are in production. Production of the SR2 line card has ceased.

The part number OC192/POS-SR2-SC should be replaced by the part number OC192E/POS-SR-SC. Although the SR2 module provides 20 km of reach, most customers use this card for intra-point of presence (POP) applications, which require less than 2 km of reach.

Table 1 lists the product and part number that is no longer orderable. Table 2 lists the newer line card and associated part number that is available now and should be used in place of the product in Table 1.

Cisco Customer Advocacy Service Logistics will no longer carry inventory for customer return material authorizations (RMAs). The Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) will no longer support these products.	April 1, 2005
