Cisco 12000
To meet service providers’ requirements for network protection and reliability, the Cisco 12000 product line will include ECC (Error Correction Codes) functionality for future designs. In the meantime, there are existing Cisco 12000 linecards in the field that do not have the ECC capability. This document explains the options customers have to upgrade their systems to new ECC hardware.

Cisco offers the following upgrade plan:
Technology Migration Plan(TMP): This option allows customers to upgrade a non-ECC board to
a new ECC board. A credit will be applied to the purchase of the new ECC board in exchange for the non-ECC board. Please note that the hardware upgrade and credit varies depending on the particular Cisco 7500 linecard. For example, customers who request to upgrade GE-SX/LH-SC(=) boards, are automatically be
upgraded to a GE-GBIC-SC-B(=) board.
