Voting is the recording of a citizen's preference in a democratic nation. It is a privilege that should not be taken lightly. Cisco encourages all eligible voters to register to vote so that their preferences can be heard.

BeAVoter.org is an initiative organized by AARP, America Online and MCI WorldCom and is a non-partisan, non-profit site. The mission is to harness the simplicity and innovative nature of the Internet to increase voter participation in the United States. Please visit this site to register to vote so that you can make your preferences heard at the ballot box.

Internet Voting

Cisco has also been active in exploring using the Internet to vote. We have invested in VoteHere, an Internet Voting technology company, as well as sponsored a forum at The Brookings Institution on "The Future of Internet Voting." Cisco President & CEO John Chambers joined with The Brookings Institution Thomas Mann to host Governors Gray Davis (D-CA) and George Pataki (R-NY) and others to discuss where the future of voting will be.
