Santiago Segarra Tormo is the Tax Information Technology General Manager in the Public Agency for Taxes Administration (AEAT) that belongs to the Ministry of Finance. He reports to the Ministry of Finance Secretary of State, and is responsible for the Information Technology in the Tax department, which includes tax management, tax collection, tax inspection and customs.
He holds an industrial engineer degree from Valencia University. Santiago Segarra Tormo was an inspector until 1988, until promoted to Application Development Sub-General Manager in the IT Public Agency. In this position he was responsible for implementing all the applications related to tax management.
In July 1997, Mr. Segarra Tormo was appointed by the Minister as IT General Manager. He has written press articles related to tax management and has lectured at the Public Finance School, considered one of the most important Spanish studies in taxes.
Mr. Segarra Tormo is a full member of the Experts Group for the Study of Main Lines of Reform in Spanish Public Administration.
