Yvon Le Roux, as Vice-President of Public Sector for Cisco in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is responsible for sales, marketing and business development for local and central government, healthcare, education and defense. Yvon joined Cisco Systems in September 1996 and until recently was Vice-President for EMEA South in charge of Cisco's operations in France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Austria. Yvon has also been closely involved in the company’s developments in Germany and Africa.
With over 25 years experience in IT, Yvon is one of the industry’s most senior players. He joined Cisco from Fujitsu-owned systems integrator and software/hardware provider, Amdahl Corporation. During his four years there, his responsibilities grew from President for France to Vice-President for EMEA.
From 1984-1992 Yvon worked for Matra Informatique where he rose to the position of President. Following Matra’s purchase by US networking company, Datapoint, he became Vice-President and General Manager for Datapoint Southern Europe, subsequently widening his responsibilities to cover all of Europe.
Yvon’s career began at Sperry Computer Systems, where he occupied various sales and marketing roles in France and Southern Europe before being appointed Director of International Marketing and Sales in charge of all markets outside the USA and Japan.
Yvon is bi-lingual in English and French and fluent in Italian. He was educated in France and the US and has spent 20 years living in the United States, UK and Italy. He now lives in Paris with his family. |
