What is the Cisco Public Services Summit @ Nobel Week 2004?

Specifically targeted to senior policy advisors and key decision makers in education, healthcare and government, the Cisco Public Services Summit will focus on ways you and your global peers can use the Internet and networking technologies to change the way you do business.

As part of this four-day event, held in Stockholm, Sweden, Wednesday 8 December - Saturday 11 December 2004 and in Oslo, Norway, on Saturday 11 December, you will also honor the 2004 Nobel Laureates at exclusive events.

Who may attend the Cisco Public Services Summit @ Nobel Week 2004?

Cisco Public Services Summit @ Nobel Week 2004 is an exclusive, invitation-only event. You have been specifically chosen to attend by your Cisco Representative.

What is the expected number of attendees?

Attendance is expected to be approximately 450.

Are spouses/partners permitted to attend?

Guests are permitted to bring a spouse or a partner, 21 years of age or older. Spouses and partners will be charged $750 USD to attend. This will cover all ground transportation (to and from events), planned dinners and evening events, private train to Oslo, and Nobel Peace Prize Concert ticket. Spouses and partners will also have the option of attending the Public Services Summit on 9 and 10 December. There will be no separate activities planned for spouses, but the hotel concierge will be able to assist guests with Stockholm sightseeing and area information.

When you register in September, you will be prompted to enter in your credit card information on a secure web site to pay for the attendance of your spouse or partner.

If you need to cancel a spouse or partner’s attendance, a written letter of cancellation must be received no later than November 30, 2004. Any cancellation received after this date will be billed for the full amount.

Please note: Spouses or partners will not be able to attend evening events, dinners or the Public Services Summit unless they have pre-registered and pre-paid on the final registration web site. We regret that due to internationally applicable rules regarding Public Sector events and Cisco company policy, exceptions will not be permitted. Pre-registration will be mandatory and only fully paid and registered guests can be admitted.

Are children permitted to attend?

Children are not permitted to attend any of the Public Services Summit @ Nobel Week events, including the evening events. In the event childcare is needed, please contact the hotel concierge directly to make the necessary arrangements.

Am I expected to attend all activities?

You are expected to attend all activities. However, if you are unable to attend a specific activity, please indicate this on the registration web site.

How much does it cost to attend?

Cisco is pleased to extend this invitation for you to attend the Cisco Public Services Summit @ Nobel Week 2004. The myriad of worldwide procurement laws and regulations make it impossible for Cisco to definitively determine whether your attendance at the event is lawful in your home country. Each attendee is solely responsible for verifying the legality of all aspects of their attendance at the event and their participation in the activities offered as part of the program. Please consult with your professional advisors as necessary.

There is no attendance fee, however, we regret that due to internationally applicable rules regarding Public Sector events & Cisco company policy, Cisco will be unable to pay for travel and hotel accommodations for delegates and speakers who are not approved by Cisco legal. Guests will be required to pay for the following:

  1. Airfare
  2. Hotel accommodations in both Stockholm and Oslo
  3. Hotel Incidentals
  4. Spouse/partner attendance ($750 USD flat fee for dinners, concert, lunch, etc.)

What airport should I fly into?

Stockholm Arlanda Airport, located 45 minutes away by taxi from the Clarion Hotel Stockholm.

How much does a taxi cost from Stockholm Arlanda airport to the Clarion Hotel Stockholm?

A taxi from Arlanda to Clarion Hotel Stockholm costs approximately SEK 450/ $65 USD. For more information, go to Stockholm Transportation.

What airport should I depart from?

Oslo Gardemoen International Airport, located 45 minutes away by taxi from the Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel Oslo. For more information, go to Oslo Transportation.

What time should I arrive on Wednesday 8 December?

Plan to arrive in Stockholm on 8 December. There is a welcome reception at the Clarion Hotel Stockholm at 19:00. The registration desk will be open from 10:00 - 22:00.

What are the passport/visa requirements for Sweden and Norway?

Passport and visa requirements are subject to change and vary depending on your length of stay and visa type. Check with your travel advisor, embassy or consulate in your home country. We regret that Cisco cannot assist with passport and visa questions.

Are transfers to events provided?

Yes. Transfers are provided for delegates to all events. Shuttles will leave from the Clarion Hotel Stockholm.

Are transfers from the airport provided?

No. Guests will need to arrange for their own transportation to the hotel from Arlanda International Airport.

Shuttles to Gardemoen International Airport will be available from the Oslo Radisson SAS Plaza on 12 December, from 8:00 - 14:00 (leaves every hour).

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements from Stockholm to Oslo for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert?

No. Cisco has arranged and will pay for all guests' transportation to Oslo from Stockholm. Guests will board a private train at Stockholm Central Train Station. For more information, go to Stockholm Ground Transportation.

ACCOMMODATIONS

How do I book my hotel accommodations?

The official event hotels are the Clarion Hotel Stockholm and the Oslo Radisson SAS Plaza.

Cisco has negotiated hotel rooms at a discounted rate at both hotels. When you register, please indicate if you will need a hotel room at the Clarion Hotel Stockholm and Oslo Radisson. You must reserve your hotel rooms on the registration form in order to receive the discounted rate. Please do not contact the hotel directly.

The Public Services Summit will take place at the Clarion Hotel. All event transportation will leave from the Clarion Hotel. Additionally, the Clarion will have a Cisco Wireless Internet Café and a Cisco information desk.

Register and book your hotel room early - hotels in Stockholm and Oslo are usually filled to capacity in December.

If you choose to stay at a different hotel, you will need to contact the hotel directly to make reservations and you will need to arrange for your own transportation to events.

What is the cancellation policy for the Clarion Hotel Stockholm and Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel?

Accommodation for Cisco Public Services Summit @ Nobel Week 2004 is held on a group basis. Once you book your room, no charges will apply if you cancel before12 October. If you cancel your booking after 12 October, 100% of charges will apply if your room cannot be resold. Your credit card will be charged accordingly. The same applies if you fail to arrive at the hotel for the requested dates. Cancellation charges may be refunded by the hotel to your credit card should your room be resold.

Upon arrival in Stockholm, how do I get to the hotel?

From Stockholm Arlanda Airport: Take E4 South (Stockholm) 45 km. Follow the signs to Södermalm and then left towards Hammarbyhamnen, make a u-turn to the left and follow the right lane towards Södermalm. After the tunnel, turn right and you are right outside the hotel.

From South: Take the E4 to Stockholm, follow the signs to Södermalm and turn right when you reach Hornstull. Continue 500 meters and then turn right on Ringvägen. Follow Ringvägen and you will find the hotel on your right after about 500 meters.

Is there parking available at the hotel?

Concierge parking is available at the Clarion Stockholm hotel and Radisson Plaza Hotel in Olso. Park in front of the hotel and the concierge will assist you. Parking cost for the Clarion is SEK 270 per 24 hours. Parking cost at the Radisson is NOK 250 per 24 hours.

Will the hotel have high-speed Internet access?

At the Clarion Hotel Stockholm, the Cisco Wireless Internet Café is located on 1st Floor. Guests are encouraged to use these rooms to check e-mail and to place phone calls. Cisco staff will be available to assist you if you have questions.

The Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel has wireless Internet access service available in the lobby areas only. There are analog phone lines in all guest rooms. To access the Internet, you will need to dial-up through the phone lines.
