Dr. Jeong is
Director General, heading the Bureau of E-Government at the
Ministry of Government Administrations and Home Affairs (MOGAHA). He is
in charge of
several key initiatives for electronic government. They include
G4C (Government for Citizens) project, Information Network Village Project,
Government-wide
System Integration Project, IT application projects for local
government administration, the project establishing the electronic document
system,
and so on.
Dr. Jeong graduated from Seoul National University majoring in economics in 1977. He spent 5 years at the University of Washington (Seattle, WA) to complete his doctoral degree in economics(1987).
Before joining the MOGAHA in Aug. 2000, he worked at the National
Computerization Agency (NCA), Executive Office of the President,
and Korea Information Society Development Institute(KISDI). He spent a year
at the
University of California (Irvine) as a visiting scholar, producing
several papers on electronic government and information society issues.
He is interested in policy issues on electronic government, IT and its effect on economy and society, Internet and the new economy, etc. |
