Note:? A small number of customers obtained this software before it was removed from CCO and replaced with release 3.1(2a), which corrects this defect.

Watchdog Timeout NMI, (tel_recv + 0x5d8) routine.
Problem Symptoms
Customers may experience an interrupt exception, "Watchdog Timeout NMI," when performing the following series of events:

Telnet to Catalyst 5000 Series Switch running Software Release 3.1(2).

From the current Telnet session, Telnet to another device.

The new Telnet device does not exist or does not respond.

The user hits any character other than [CNTL]-C.
Workaround/Solution
This problem has been resolved in Catalyst 5000 Series Software Release 3.1(2a), which is available immediately via the CCO Software Center.
